I've lost a liccle faith in Ryan of late, possibly as a bye product from the team and its results but he speaks well, particularly from the perspective of fans.

 

"We all thought we could use a sixth sub in extra time, we subsequently did so, but it turns out that decision was wrong and we shouldn't have been allowed to do that," Taylor told BBC Sport.

Taylor was first told there could be a problem in the early hours of Wednesday morning and the FA opened up an investigation later that day.

"In the meetings with the officials before the game and during the game the information that was relayed to us was wrong, hence why I think we're still in the competition because we've not tried to cheat the system.

"It's an honest mistake and it's not just ourselves who've made that mistake, but we feel the brunt of that responsibility because it's ourselves who've ultimately been punished."

Bradford manager Derek Adams did not want to comment on the FA's decision to replay the game, but did confirm that the red card shown to striker Lee Angol during the match will stand

You are defending the indefensible. You broke the rules, end of… The crap about us trying to bring on a 6 th sub is whataboutism and a deflection. YOUR CLUB knew the rules pre and POST match and your boss even bragged about it.

As a neutral in all this I can honestly say that the FA has made an absolutely appalling decision. Exeter should have been kicked out of the competition and most Cambridge fans on the forum I'm on agree with that view. You have every right to feel aggrieved...hopefully Adams can use it as motivation for the replay of the replay.

How can you say ECFC weren’t in the wrong in the same sentence as “ they broke the rules”?

 

Definition of cheat: act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage.

Exeter cheated as they had an unfair advantage by using more subs, two of whom scored. They didnt act dishonestly as the info they got was wrong yet they still cheated as they had an advantage.

The FA have thus voided the game. They accept their part in letting Exeter cheat (relaying bad info), hence the decision to force us to play a replay, not just put us directly through.

Whoever goes through loses to Cambridge so its all a bit irrelevant.

Far be it from me to coach you on manners and etiquette but start with your own club, say what Exeter did wrong and that they were actually wrong and then there might be more willingness to engage with you pointing fingers elsewhere.
