We have the home advantage because we drew at your place, that's how the FA Cup works!! The initial replay was a Tuesday night anyway. You got your arse handed to you and lost 3-0. You've now got a chance to stay in the competition and even if you don't the minimum will be us giving you half the gate receipts after your expenses are paid (probably much more as its very likely to be on TV). We went through on the referee's briefing which he told both clubs and now have the prize money taken away and a chance not to proceed. You've been treated ridiculously well. As explained in the BBC article its us that's been punished, you got a lifeline. Be happy. If you don't want to play it then pull out the competition or play your u18s. We followed the FA representatives numerous rulings on the day and you also tried following them! Look at this from a non biassed point of view. The FA ruling is probably the right call, and it benefits you not us more.

Let’s take a step back and concede that Exeter didn’t knowingly cheat in a pre meditated way.
They are guilty of being naive, gullible and incompetent but they didn’t cheat and probably didn’t deserve to be thrown out.
However, we don’t deserve to have to travel 600 miles round trip midweek.
The game should be played at a neutral venue somewhere in the Midlands

 

I agree with you it wasnt pre meditated but, at the same time, they gained an unfair advantage by having fresher legs on the pitch - so it still fits the definition of cheating!

Well said. if it was so easy to fill grounds the other tinpot clubs would follow our lead but they still couldnt fill the ground as they hail from an area of the world where there are more cows than humans. We are a mahooooosive club that should be in the Championship.

 

After listening to the interview it sounds like the reason Adams got a yellow was because he was pointing out to the 4th official Exeter had made too many subs.

As an aside, I can see no case whatsoever for the replay of the replay being at Valley Parade. Either we fcuked up, in which case we should be thrown out, or, as seems to be the case, the officials fcuked up, in which case a case could be made that, if both sides were told they could make a sixth substitute, the result should stand.

As it is, I think a replay at SJP is a not-unreasonable alternative

Ultimately, although the information was wrong, both clubs were playing under the same knowledge, in that they believed they would be able to make 6 subs if it went to ET.
The issue is that Bradford were not able to make their 6th sub in ET as they had already made one, so the 4th official then applied the wrong rule in the wrong way!!

In all seriousness though, I'd assume we aren't overly happy as when Bradford wanted to make their 6th sub, the score was already 2-0 and they were down to 10 men so we could argue was the denial of that sub something that affected the game. If the 4th had allowed Bradford to make that sub, we probably would already be through.

All in all though the ruling could have been better for us, but could also have been worse. Although not wanted, hopefully MT can spin it as a positive in that its another competitive game for the likes of Edwards, Coley, Sparkes, Kite, Taylor et al.

In terms of the 5 people that the Bradford CEO is criticizing I assume it is the referee assessor who was also apparently at the game in the stands. Would like to see his report now!!!
