I don't know it its within the vires of the FA to do this, but if they're mandating that the game needs to be replayed - again - it should have been switched back to VP.

Long old trip and will be challenging mentally.Be interesting to see how Adams plays this but whatever the result on Saturday in the league,I can't see him wanting anything less than a worthwhile outcome.

The games laws aren’t upheld by the clubs. That’s why we have 4 officials and then an assessor at the game. It sounds like 6 sub cards were handed out to both clubs. Exeter submitted their sixth and it was allowed. That’s on the officials so lies with the FA.
I really can’t understand what everyone is so upset about? What do people think has happened?? The FA would have just kicked them out had they broken the rules knowingly. Easy decision for them and takes away the spotlight. The fact they haven’t done that should tell you all that the 4 people at the game who are their to uphold the rules have failed to do so.
The fact we have to travel to Exeter again is of course a massive ball ache but the fact we’re still in the competition after failing over 2 ties is a positive that we should take with both hands.

Or at least a neutral ground. If they are saying the first game and result is null and void so should the bookings/sending off.

Good point. The FA aren't saying as much but obviously laying the blame at the feet of the 4 officials, without actually hanging them out to dry.

I really aren't that bothered…..my sore point of contention is that Angols red card will stand from a game thats null and void. He should be allowed to play on sat and take the hit in this pointless replay

Considering how big sustainability is in the world atm, having to make a team drive all the way down the Exeter for another game when a team broke the rules is ridiculous. Then all the fans as well that go to football games, I hope the FA don’t start jumping on the bandwagon of wanting to be green. In all honesty I’d have just kicked Exeter out given us their prize money and Cambridge a bye to the third round. I find it crazy how a game can be void but no fans get a refund and Angols suspension still counts.

I wonder whether the replayed replay will be televised, there will be no other games that night in the cup

He'll miss the Northampton game but be available for this reply, Lee will certainly be fired up for the return.

If it’s a replay of a replay surely it comes back to VP. That’s my biggest moan.
And that Angols card still stands. Joke

It's not a replay of the replay. It's the replay. The other game is null and void and "didn't happen."

It's worth mentioning by the way - You're going to be making money out of this. Your 'punishment' is a trip down to Exeter and a lifeline to remain in the cup. That seems like the best punishment ever. There's no travel or accommodation costs to yourself as it's paid for like always in the FA Cup, out of gate receipts. You then get a 50% split of those gate receipts, and it's also likely to be on TV on top of that. How Bradford can moan in anyway is such a bewilderment.

Meanwhile, we have to play a cup game again that we won under the rules that the ref briefed both teams prior to the game. We're the ones being punished, not Bradford.

So the ban goes then? Either it happened or it didn’t.

As we weren't in the wrong we shouldn't be expected to pay for the traveling expenses etc, I wonder if its the same officiating team if so they need to do their homework with regards the FA Cup rules.

We should be thankful for small mercies. The 'away' club doesn't pay for its travelling expenses in the FA Cup! They're paid out of the gate receipts.

You have a very high opinion of Exeter if you think that’s the best punishment ever**so funny

Most of us would rather the result just stood or both teams knocked out and Cambridge get a bye, it’s a game neither team wants but only one team broke the rules. It may not be intentionally but your manager and club should know the rules of the sport they’re playing, Matt Taylor has more experience in football that the backwards refs that lower league games get these days so that just doesn’t wash.

One being played on Saturday afternoon and one on Tuesday evening…. How many do you think would have travelled from Exeter had the fixtures been the other way round?
