RB id the real issue aye. Not been convinced by OT but Adams had him at Plymouth and isn’t fan of youth it seems? FCD deserves a run imo but cant see it happening

Wow you still believe the club and others at it?

What’s it going to take? Us being in the conference or something for you to understand that the club talks pants.

We have no money. Well Rupp doesn’t want to put his hands in his pocket. It’s done!

Our best option at right back would be Sutton but he'd be wasted there now he's a first choice midfielder. FCD looks a good prospect but needs to adapt to the position and Adams doesn't seem to favour the young players.

Yeah but that's what the club is actually saying.

They're saying there basically won't be much input from Rupp, and that whatever we generate, we keep (unless it's millions, of course, then no doubt Rupp will want his piece).

I think it's very unlikely that whatever we got for Crankshaw will just disappear. We HAD no money, now we have one transfer fee + one saved wage. That means we have the money to sign one player for a transfer fee/larger wage than Ollie was on.

I wouldn't say I'm falling for anyone's lies with that.

If Sutton is our 1st choice midfielder then it’s no shock we are 11th.

The defence was the issue all Summer long, in my view, people wanted strikers (fair enough), but the back line was paper thin. Every time a defender is out, we're struggling, and we've had multiple injuries to our back line - I think only Paudie has maintained fitness, but I might be wrong, maybe he's missed a game or two as well as the others.

I just didn't understand why people were saying we had depth there.

Yeah. I think we’d miss Suttons runs if he dropped back to RB. He has made a difference in there, even if he can sometimes run it loose, he gets us up the pitch.

I wish Staunton was next in line to cover CB, not Kelleher, thats for sure.

I didn't think much of Staunton last season, nor FCD.

I admired them because they were 18 and being thrust into the thick of the first time tussles, but I didn't think either was good enough to be a relied-upon League Two defender. I still don't. I think they need time, and I'm glad they're on long term contracts.

But Andy O'Brien they ain't. To be honest I think part of the reason we were SO bad last season is we were too young.

Is there a right of appeal by Exeter is they do get kicked out? If so the process needs to be very speedy to get it settled in time for round 2

Firstly who do they appeal to?

In reality it is a very narrow issue.

On what basis, ‘We don’t like the judgement’! Come on!

What time limit is there for an appeal?

What grounds for an appeal? There would have to be fresh evidence.

If it went in favour of Exeter, could City appeal.

There needs to be a strict, transparent process, which is completed before the end of the week.

Can Angol’s automatic suspension be overturned or suspended?

I don’t think City have a right of appeal as technically they are not involved. Exeter are being investigated and could be charged, not us.

I think Anglo’s suspension stays no matter what

Considering we were once kicked out the FA Cup for fielding an illegible player (Curtis Goode) in a 1-1 draw with Brentford, and we appealed that decision and won the right to be reinstated and replay the tie based on 'a genuine error', I'm not sure how much success we'll have proving that Exeter have knowingly and wilfully cheated.

If it's an error on the part of the officials, they might make us replay the tie, but there's no chance they kick Exeter out and put us through.

That's not a sensible solution in my view.

But if there was scope for a decision, an appeal, and a U-turn between the initial tie and the replay, there's definitely time to do so with this one.

Our R2 match would just be delayed.

After your positivity last night that is a very strange and negative stance to take. We have to develop a winning mentality at the club and a couple of good results and we might just be rewarded with the pay day we so badly need to aid with team strengthening.
The only outcome from this that wouldn't really suit is a replay of the game in Devon but I don't think this will be the outcome

Out of interest, what do you think the outcome will be?

I'd say if our complaint is upheld, we will play Exeter in Exeter? What's your feeling on the subject (given it's never happened before, there's no wrong answer!)?

Its an interesting one and as you say with no real precedent. As the innocent party in this, the costs we will incur to go all the way to Exeter again hardy seem fair so unless there is more than adequate compensation I honestly think the game should be replayed at VP.
I don't think Exeter will be kicked out

I don’t think it’s our complaint Jon. As far as I know all this has stemmed from the FA themselves. I did see the Match Assessor typing furiously but at the time assumed it was about the red card. The fact the FA directly involved themselves indicates to me the”ignorance of the law is no defence” line. From what I have seen in the past the FA will unlikely focus on any mistakes by their own officials they just don’t do that. We shall see very quickly I think.
