I think @Ricky will win that as so far the official death rate is less the 1 in 6 million as there have only been a handful of deaths officially caused by the vaccine

 

Why would areas which have historically had a high number of cases suddenly across the UK decide not to get tested overnight. That theory doesn't make much sense.

It is not uncommon for people to be vaccinated and then to go on and get covid.

It is however uncommon for people to have Covid then go on to get it again. It does happen but it's far rarer than getting it after vaccination.

I would continue to point to immunity via covid being stronger that immunity via vaccine which really isn't there for immunity in the first place, it is there to help fight off the virus once it is contracted being the reason for this current trend.

 

the lack of nearby testing stations could be one. I’m sure when the mobile testing stations were set up in places like Manningham sports centre you commented that the increase in cases was due to the availability of the testing and not an increase in actual cases

 

That doesn't hold water, Keighley which is low on vaccination and low on cases has a mobile testing facility at Asda and a permanent one at Victoria Hall.

In Bradford Tescos has a testing centre in the car park, there is one in centenary square.

If anything testing centres are far more spare in rural areas such as Ilkley, Otley, etc which are showing a high number of cases.

Testing across the board has been similar for months. As many tests are being done down as were done in May, obviously that is scattered across the UK, but it doesn't make sense for whole communities to stop testing but in other areas large scale testing is suddenly taking place to balance out those missing tests.

 

I could buy that. If you're not going to take the vaccine you're more likely to view the risk as minimal. If you view the risk as minimal you're less likely to go get a test if you just think you're run down or have another minor illness. People who are more concerned about the virus are likely to be better at taking the precautionary measures.

Not sure it's any more concrete than the idea that regions who have historically high infections also have significant natural immunity but there could be an element of overlap.

If you clearly have read my posts and stance on it all you will know from the off my debate as always been about the vaccine and how the passport will be implemented and I don't agree with either at this moment in time.

As for the vaccine if it is has successful as you claim people shouldn't need double booster then but yet you won't take me up on that. Strange that if you are so confident in the vaccine.

I also see you said you have no idea of the effectiveness of the double shots or whatever, so does that mean you are just going along with it all although you have no idea how good or bad the vaccine really is?.

Because I am man and not a mouse I will take YOUR bet for £50 but not only that and because I am that confident should the other 2 you claim I added to the bet don't happen I will also give a further £50 to the burns unit.

And my added bet that you won't take is I give a further £50 should passports become the norm and certain people will need 2 boosters shots after the have had the 3rd meaning at least 5 jabs taken by may 2023.

my only question before it starts is what are you using as the definition of deaths caused by the vaccine. The only way I can think is to use those officially classified on their death certificate in the UK as cause of death - Covid vaccine.

if so I think the current number of deaths is about 5

edit. Found this from last month. It talks about the lag between actual deaths and the figures, could be a couple of months. So when this talks about August, that would be figures from June and before.

In contrast, the different statistical agencies have reported that to August 2021 (June 2021 in Northern Ireland) there were 4 deaths in England, 0 deaths in Wales, 4 deaths in Scotland and 1 in Northern Ireland. Of these, 4 in Scotland and 1 in Northern Ireland had the vaccine as the underlying cause of death. This meant that there were 9 deaths in the UK that involved the vaccine (meaning the vaccine contributed to the death), of which 5 had the vaccine as the underlying cause (meaning the vaccine initiated the chain of events directly leading to the death). For these deaths, there was evidence to suggest that the vaccine played a part in the chain of events that led to the death.
