That's just ridiculous! Another divided state causing additional division.

And people in the UK say "it's just nightclubs, it doesn't affect me it's fine" and don't see where this could lead. They have a lot more faith in the government than I do.

Just simply to add again, I've had the vaccine, all my family have had the vaccines, I'm in no way anti-vax, everyone should have the vaccine. However the extent to which governments are moving away from encouragement and education towards coercion and force while being willing to cause division in their own countries doesn't sit right with me at all.

 

History tells us what happens when you dehumanise a contingent of your population.

Can anyone watch the latest rhetoric from worldwide governments and categorically state that it won't end with unvaccinated people people being forced to live in their own isolated communities?

 

This is only being pushed forward because of the people who have been brainwashed to believe they are in incredible danger if they come close to an unvaccinated person.

The I'm taking your xbox away from you punishment for not being vaccinated rather than pushing the benefits of getting the vaccine on these people.

People have been brainwashed into accepting everything they are told is gospel
Fans have been told to wear a facemask wherever they are in the stadium this afternoon, most (but not) all are happy to do so
sending the message to the government they will abide by whatever rules (without question) they care to apply
Next game jeans will be banned and still some would comply
It's not about wearing masks or being socially distant it's all about the government pushing to see how much control they can exert over the public like a child in a sweetshop they will pick us as many packs of sweets they can till the parent says "no"
Just look at the videos/photos of nightclubs not a mask in sight and certainly not socially distant for proof

I read a report yesterday that Covid was in the Italian sewerage system as easily as summer 2019, well before anything came out ofChina. Probably bullshit I know but let’s talk about how it’s dealt with, because that’s the debate.

China is next door to NewZealand, Japan and Australia, look how they handled it compared to us and we are at the other side of the planet with the strongest borders on the planet ( wetting myself laughing), surrounded by water.

Is that Oz, in almost total lockdown again, with borders totally closed? And NZ in a similar position? And then Japan risking another influx with the Olympics ?

 

China is over 11000 km from New Zealand, hardly neighbours Kevin!

We should have closed our borders that's one thing I think we got so wrong in fact, they should still be closed for tourists and illegal immigrants alike.

Credit where it is due though, our Government have overseen a vaccination programme the envy of the rest of the world

 

China is next door to New Zealand? Los Angeles is closer to London than Beijing is to Christchurch. You get a bed and a pair of pyjamas on a flight from LA it’s that far.

Didn’t mention vaccine because I can’t fault the NHS delivery and overseas scientists, some working with Oxford for discovering these vaccines. What was it two Turkish scientists from Germany. I just can’t remember tbh.?

 

It says something I genuinely can't tell if this is a ridiculously over the top parody of the way he speaks, or exactly what he said in response to a question!

 

Problem is they've done everything else so badly it negates anything good they are perceived to have done. But then we've never been really good at defending our borders, easier now to get in than it's ever been.

 

Let's hope the actions of folk today don't impact on our children and grand children of tomorrow.

The slight flaw in your argument is that these regulations are nothing to do with the government, who by lifting restrictions on Monday, fully desolved responsibility. Whether it's football stadiums, supermarkets or public transport, businesses and organisations are putting their own guidelines in place as they see fit. The government will be extremely happy about this, and the resulting division it causes in the population because it refocuses the blame on others rather than themselves.

From city and other club's point of view, I can totally get why they are trying to encourage people to continue taking precautions by wearing a mask, washing hands regularly and keeping respectful distance. Cases are still high and we don't have a fully vaccinated population - an ideal situation for the virus to mutate again, possibly into a variant that is resistant to the vaccine . This is a global pandemic and with only around 14% of the world population fully vaccinated and our border controls practically non existent, there is every chance things could get worse again before they get better.
It's fantastic fans are back in stadiums and everyone wants that to continue, I see what city and other clubs are doing as a way to try and ensure that happens. Not sure why people have a problem with it tbh.
