I think we can all agree on one thing. This government is such a shit show they there is absolutely no way we know what the rules are going to be on the basis the government have no idea what the rules are going to be themselves.

The Covid Passport scheme announced yesterday seems ill thought and just blurted out. Followed by Boris actually saying he was worried about the risks of the Nightclubs on the fecking day he ordered they could be reopened.

The club can reduce the capacity however they like, we already choose to keep the TL Dallas stand shut and regularly reduce capacity for cup games by only allowing entry to certain parts of the ground. At the very least, if we said that we weren't going to implement any covid rules the council would soon reduce our capacity to no more than 16k by issuing a new safety certificate.

If its by capacity all they need to do is cordon off unused blocks. Black sheets like they do to split off away fans in Midland road. Capacity now 16k ….. job done? Or just shut top tier of sunwin or the NW corner??

Good theory but we would need to shut the bradford end, midland Road and the northwest corner to even approach a reduction to 15,999

Surely you don't need to close anywhere as they only make 15999 total tickets available for sale.

    Not at all!

Our capacity is 24/25k and it will go by that. No shutting off sections etc.

    seriously!!

The capacity is simply the clubs choice by how many tickets they decide to put up for sale, not necessarily the amount of seats in the stadium.

Hasn’t it been reduced below that in the past though….say we don’t have a safety certificate for one stand….then officially it would get reduced below potential capacity?

Its not. Its the figure stated on a safety certificate which judging by the 'full house' v Reading in 2015 is 24,123 not the 25,136 stated on wiki.

You can dress it how you want but unless seats are physically removed, or stands deemed unsafe, the capacity remains the same.

But surely a 24,000 seater stadium with only 16,000 in attendance is much safer than a 8,000 with 8,000 attending!

Back of a fag packet stuff, they're making it up as they go along... not a strung-together thought to be found

You seem pretty confident you know the rules when the government are still looking for the fag packet they are written on themselves.
