I've got news for you, thousands of under 18s have bought season tickets at Valley Parade for the next season.

Have you been to pubs, restaurants, etc since they reopened?

Seeing as those serving are at the lower end of the age range and therefore unvaccinated how did you ever survive, or are the unvaccinated OK to serve, but not to be served?

The point Loyal, is that some see the Covid passport as the 1st stage of implementation of the surveillance state through a digital ID.
You are happy to have a Covid passport but you wouldn't want a digital ID. That's what I believe is coming through the "back door".
    Hope im wrong.

We do still get bubonic plague. It kills people across the world basically every year but since it's bacterial rather than a virus it can be easily treated so never breaks out into medically advanced societies. Spanish flu eventually burnt out because the population had no other choice than to let it run wild, something that we're obviously not going to do in today's society so the effects will be more strung out......a flattened curve if you will. Spanish Flu is still speculated to be around too though, it's 'decedents' make up some of the regular influenza variants apparently.

All of what you say may well be true but in the mean time we can't let our society develop onto an "us and them" situation where the actual effects of the reduction in risk is minimal. Regardless of the reason why, no society has ever been divided into "us and them" and come out of it better, so the benefits of going down that route have to be vast.

Digital ID should be the least of anyone's concerns
Just take a look at what the so called "conspiracy theorists" were saying March 2020 (I must admit I cried bunkum)
A lot has proven correct and it's just the tip of the iceberg
Some on here prefer to close there mind to anything other than what we are told by the authorities thats obviously their perogative a little open minded research may enlighten them

I'll borrow your "false fear" phrase if I may.

SAR Cov2 has to be the least lethal "global health emergency" ever known. Psychologists have admitted that their fear campaign has been only too successful.

Its infection fatally rate is an average of 0.15% and the average victim is beyond average life expectancy with multiple other health conditions, usually close to death. Oxford University has a calculator to work out your relative and absolute risk of hospitalisation or death from Covid. You may be surprised by your result. Even 80 plus year olds with co morbidities have a very high chance of surviving SAR Cov2.

The Centre for Disease Control in the US have stated that 94% of those that have had their deaths attributed to Covid19 actually died of other underlying conditions. A court in Portugal has just ruled that only 0.9% of Covid "deaths" were attributable to Covid.

I'm not suggesting that we are blasé about SARS Cov2 but I do expect a sense of proportion to be applied and the wider wellbeing of society to be considered in our response.

Just remember, the end product from all this is its for their benefit not yours. What may seem innocuous won't be all it appears. You ain't as free as you think.

Melbourne and Sydney are going into lockdown. The combined population of their states is 15m. The combined number of positive cases in those states is 75. Not hospitalisations or deaths. Cases.

    Lunacy.

I watch a lot of Australian rugby league and noticed they'd banned spectators from stadiums again in NSW. Ended up playing all stste of origin games in Queensland. I get the feeling that the government will crumble to media pressure and we'll end with another type of lockdown near Christmas when figures will rise as what usually happens near winter. Make the most of the early games at VP because I can see a scenario where stadiums are restricted again.

The official documentation which comes with the vaccine when you go for your jab says this.

What are the benefits and risks of the vaccine.

Over 50s - One dose 80% reduction in risk of death, hospitalisation, intensive care. Two dose 95%.

If a 95% reduction doesn't allow you to feel confident then the fear drilled into you to make you think you are in the 5% and that everyone unvaccinate must be covid carriers by default then there is very little that can be done to change your mind. Government propaganda seems to be working not to get those who choose not to be vaccinated to be vaccinated but those who are vaccinated to turn against those unvaccinated.

Aye. Never cross a road again, there's a chance you might be run over. Or better still, ban driving so everyone can feel safe whilst out walking.

And they've been doing it for 2 years, so it obviously doesn't work. Time for everyone to face up to the fact that rolling lockdowm periods are here to stay indefinitely

A small pole sample from this morning.

Went to St Lukes (8.30 appointment) this morning for a CT scan and got the bus for convenience.
Of the 25 whom got on bus on the way to Lukes, 14 wore masks with 11 no masks. Age group primarily younger end.

On the way back home, of the 12 whom got on. 9 wore masks, 3 no masks. More of a mixed age group.

So around 3 in 5 wore masks and the official guidance at this time is to wear masks.

    Just some highlights.

Most of the time spent at football matches is in the open air. Different risk entirely. I've never said that I think vaccine restrictions should be applied to football matches.
I've been to pubs and restaurants, yes. Usually sat outside but not always. When inside, they've been socially distanced, table service and the waiters have worn masks. Very different from the free for all beyond 19th July.

I took the bus into Town in Sunday to watch the footy with my lad, we had our masks on but were literally the only ones upstairs who did. Got the taxi home and to be fair the taxi driver did. What Johnson has now done with his mixed message approach will now only heighten the mistrust between people. I'll still wear one when appropriate as my parent are very high risk but I'd say in places such as Bradford people had already made their mind up not to wear masks, especially the younger end of society.
