Agree with that, no way he was attracting those players to Morecambe.

But it's a real fillip to have a manager who doesn't need to sign XI perfect signings - and who could easily make a lot of the debates on here redundant by getting the best of the quality we already have.

Callum Cooke, Elliot Watt, Canavan, Paudie, ROD, these players aren't no hopers.

It ain't the end of the world if some of the new lads are a bit duff, I don't know why some think they have to be these perfect players (that they clearly aren't going to be).

 

At 28 he has scored 21 this season and 29 in the rest of his career

Exactly. Adams seems to have a clear idea about how he wants his teams to play and makes sure his players understand their role in plan. I doubt that if we were to sign an out & out fox-in-the-box striker that Adams would completely waste his talents by playing him as a back to goal target man. It's unbelievable how badly we have wasted striking talent in the last few years.

 

It’s the cliche of cliches but if you’re scoring consistently it’s unlikely you’re in league two for long.

 

Gonna be interesting to see how and what Adams lines up with. I agree with you in that we still need another striker to complement Cook and Angol.

 

This league is much of a muchness. No stand outs at all. I think folk over rate how much quality matters at this level.

As long as our squad is competetive, the rest will be down to the gaffer. And weve got a good one.

 

Unless you're absolutely bonkers, like Oldham, in which case being second highest scorers means nothing because you've conceded 81 goals somehow.

That's 12 more than anyone else!

Sikora might go out on loan. Evans might leave. Sign a striker and then a couple of loans in I reckon if Sikora and Evans depart.

Based on that squad we do have options. Really need a decent striker though to offer competition. Im happy enough with wide and number 10 options given Eisa, Gillead and Vernan can operate there if Cooke isnt up to much.

If Threlkeld to operate as a CM then a RB is a must. All 4 full backs have also played CB at some point in their careers so we pretty well stocked there if we play 3 at the back.

 

I noticed Adams said that 23 have been training, and he’s on record as saying he wants a squad of 24. We have 26 players listed on Wikipedia - I’m guessing the three not training with the first team are Charlie Wood, Sukiennicki and Sikora?

Which leaves him with one spare place for a striker hopefully.

 

Theres another kid who signed a pro deal. Guessing he isnt but Sikora is.

I listed 23 players so guess thats the 23.

 

There doesn’t seem to be anything brewing at the moment and they are up to Glasgow for four days today. I wonder if the last signing might be a loan

 

The squad been in Glasgow has nothing to do with potential incomings? It doesnt slow down or alter a thing.

 

I think any more signings will now be loan signings probably nearer to the start of the season

 

I appreciate that but there doesn’t seem to be any stirrings at the moment to indicate a signing is imminent

 

Bobby ended up at Div 4 level due to his disciplinary record. He started his English football at Aston Villa, he was then very highly rated at the dog botherers when they were still at a decent level. He went off the rails behaviour wise and also had two leg fractures at a young age. He ended up with us because it was "last chance saloon" for him when George Mulhall gave him a chance on Brian Edwards recommendation.
He consistent goal return along with his strength leading the line stands up against anyone. And that is in an era of Keith Edwards and Tommy Tynan.
