Don't take much notice of stats. According to them, Kane and Grealish had nothing to do with England's first goal agin Germany. Nahki's pace assisted even when he never touched the ball. Eisa is likely to be the same.

 

I don’t disagree, my original point was that as back up to Cook and Angol, it’s a bit threadbare

 

I wouldn't be very happy if we were starting with Eisa or Vernam up front should Cook and Angol both be missing, and I agree, without Cook alone we look a bit worse for wear; but I'm assuming Adams is putting his faith in Angol to deputise effectively, where a lot of posters on this forum seem to be very dismissive of Angol and I've read some posts assuming he isn't even back up to Cook because he has a slightly different style.

Like I say, if we do sign someone, they really need to be a top notch signing or there's simply no point. If we do bag a really good forward, great, full steam ahead.

Otherwise, I'd be prioritising right back with our final experienced squad member, as that really does look weak to me - we're one deep in terms of actual, quality right backs.

Wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with a couple of cheap loans in both positions, though.

Only stats that matter to me are goal scoring stats. Gotta have a striker capable of scoring.

 

The stats reinforce the fact that Eisa should be used wide left - that's the position he was able to deliver those good statistics, easily the best of his career.

 

Don't mind where he plays as long as he causes defences more problems than we caused last season.

 

The problem is that it feels like it applies to all if the other right backs and probably two of the left backs.

 

Nah, scoring is over rated. What you really need is "presence" apparently.

 

Threlkeld was Adams right back at Plymouth. Adams sees Foulds as a left back.
