I am certainly optimistic.

 

Seems the man to do it. Now let’s see some solid backing from Rupp in terms of transfer fund to help him get the job done.

 

I read something one of the Morecambe joint chairman said a few months ago about how their vision is to establish the club as a league 1 club, so even they realistically accept their chances of going higher are incredibly slim. I wish them all the best with that and hope they achieve their goal, but Adams is ambitious and I don't think he'd see treading water for a few years in league 1 as success. He wants more than that and I think Sparks's vision for where he sees us in the next 3 years has really whet his appetite.

 

Being away for a while I have just been catching up where I can but the same thing struck me he said on a couple of interviews that he was here to get us into league one no mention of beyond that. Of course it could be one step at a time but I think he is very ambitious and we could be a further stepping stone but it’s a great appointment looking forward now to see who we bring in

He was there 18 months. That makes his achievements even better in my view. Took Macclesfields poorer twin and got it to league one. Stunning.

 

Wow this guys under pressure already , talk of getting into championship in 3 years ,I know you have to have ambition but if he doesn’t get promotion and the footballs terrible will we be giving him time the next season , still think if we had stuckabit longer with Gary bowyer he might have got us out of division 2 as well.so good luck mr adams let’s hope you can get us out of division 2 first.

 

Morecombe have a very small budget, 21 players out of contract and season of struggle ahead. Our opportunity appeals more.

Unless someone big is in for him I dont see him bailing out in a move down a division or even a side step.

 

I'm as happy as anyone having 'got our man'. But honestly, i can't help feeling that the way this has played out has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I remeber the McFarland debacle as though it was yesterday. One of their fans summed it up the way i would have felt :

It's like my gorgeous wife, who I trusted and knew exactly how to treat me and get the best of me, has been carrying on behind my back. I was a little suspicious after I heard she'd been seen out for coffee over Christmas with a brash Twit from Yorkshire. But when I asked her about it she said a few of the right things but not wholly convincingly (I was in love so I fell in with the silent replies - so i thought the idea is so ridiculous it doesn't really deserve a full and proper answer and I'm at fault for asking). So we had this weekend break in London. It was spectacular, I was happier than I've ever been. Then the day after we got back, out of the blue, she just upped and left. Yes there were more rumours but I dismissed them. The day after that I saw pictures of her on Facebook with the brash Yorkshire Twit, looking gorgeous and saying how committed she was to her new future.

I still feel for her and wish her well but deep down I really hope the pair of them discover eternal pain and unhappiness.

Hilarious. At least its not us this time. Parky leaving was bad for us although I can see why he left with the loony Bosnian in charge I know footy... morecambe are in a better place than we were. They even took the spare socks and water bottles LOL.

 

One things for sure, we won’t be a soft touch. Standards will be high in terms of work rate and commitment, and that’s exactly where you need to start in this league.

 

Good find mate and most would go along with the posters thoughts, which were very good. Unfortunatly football is no different from most business, if an employee working for another company in the same field many times they are head hunted, football is no different, as long as Ryan has gone about it in the correct manner and approached Morecambe and being given permission to speak to Adams he's done it the right way.
We know from our time at City opposition clubs don't always play by the book, Derby and McFarland, Sheffield United and Parky, and of course Town and Nahki Wells and I'm sure many more.

 

Do you think he would have signed an “ unprecedented “ (as far as I can recall) for Bradford City, a THREE year deal without any form of commitment in transfer monies as a % age of ALL income?

He’s been promised “investment” as Sparks alluded to.

I can understand the Morecambe supporter being unhappy but I think Bradford City and Derek Adams have gone about this business in a fair and honourable way. He didn't walk out before The Shrimps had made the play-offs, as many managers would have done, in order to evaluate his new club's squad. Bradford City kept their cards close to their chest so as not to affect the end of Morecambe's season. Finally Adams delivered a promotion few Morecambe supporters could have dreamed of, even though he knew he'd be leaving within days he gave everything to take the side he was leaving over the line.

Yep, Keith Hill, who is now one of the favourites to take over at Morecambe. Funny old game is football....
