Matt Hancock is in the commons today at 10.30am to bluster his way through some questions.

He will probably use the Homer Simpson defence of it's all the guys fault who can't speak English.

 

Prepping the onions as we speak for his fake tears.

 

Cummings may have some weird ideas and is unliked by the press and the Tory MPs but as far as am aware has no reputation or history of deliberately lying, His testimony may well have been flavored in his favor but had the ring of truth about it, The Government and especially Boris and Hancock will hide behind a proposed public inquiry that will not report until around 2028 so will get away with it all

 

And still by that time the bloke who had all the answers will still not have been found..!!

 

Heard an interview yesterday with some bod from Blackburn saying they were having to work really hard to get the Asian community to take the vaccine because they think its not Halal. It's a vaccine that alleviates the symptoms of a killer disease, some people need to have a long hard think about the balance between death from it or keeping religious beliefs.

I'm not convinced that the guy from Bolton who says 75% of those in hospital have had the vaccine is actually being completely truthful.

 

There was an Imam on TV the other week urging
Muslims to take the vaccine as it does not go into the blood stream when injected.
We keep getting told certain ethnic minorities are more prone to catch Covid yet they are the very people who are reluctant to get the jab.

 

being pedantic here I think you mean the 'muslim community' Not all asians are muslims

 

I may be stereotyping here, but I am pretty sure that the education levels, levels of poverty, and job roles all contribute towards poor health outcomes.

 

Answers? They weren't even asking the right questions. They were fast asleep.
And, as Cummings said, all they actually had to do was download the Taiwan or Singapore plans and get on with it. But Johnson wanted to be the Mayor from Jaws instead.

 

Those conditions apply to many citisens living in the likes of Bradford and other Northern cities.

 

That's not stereotyping at all.
It's a combination of factors. Many people of South Asian origin are in low income groups. They tend to work in front facing jobs, factories, social care etc where contact with and transmission of the virus are higher than average. They culturally favour large, extended family groups, often living multi- generationally in close proximity with reduced scope for social distancing. Add in lower educational levels within the older generations and religious beliefs/prejudices/misinformation and you have the perfect conditions for virus transmission and vaccine hesitancy.
Which is not to say that they are the only group in society that has unfavourable circumstances regarding Covid transmission. But all the ingredients are there in abundance.

 

So the devil incarnation now becomes Mother Teresa, if the government were doing as he quotes (which I'm not doubting) why not walk out, isn't he as complicit by not bringing it to the attention of the press.

 

Debate going on in parliament now and Labour haven't shown up, Hancock brushing them all aside with ease......

 

Yes he is. He most certainly isn't Mother Theresa, he's a bastard of the first order. And he's definitely twisting the knife now.
He certainly should have blown the whistle on the total shambles at the time. But that doesn't mean that what he's saying now is incorrect. It too closely confirms what many people have been saying for ages, but with the added benefit of someone who was in the room and is known for keeping meticulous records.

Cases are rising over 3 thousand yesterday for the first time in a while although deaths are still low. It wouldn’t surprise if they postpone full lockdown for a week or two

 

It's so difficult because we know Cummings bends the truth but I find 90% of what he said yesterday perfectly believable. Its just trying to figure out where he's not quite being honest.

That being said the issue with trying to pin blame, especially in the early days, is that the same accusations can be levelled at every Western Government because the science was imperfect and most people underplayed the implications until March.

The stuff subsequent to that is miles more interesting and potentially damming.

 

A guy who was more than happy at the time to go along with the government strategy, pigs and trough come to mind.

 

I see the government tactic following yesterday is to get Tory MPs thanking Matt Hancock for visiting their constituency.
