We know this, but people don't check this on a daily basis, usually guidance is announced. It's quite simple if you want to update guidance at least make people aware, not have them find out days later otherwise what is the point?

Irrelevant, as people who aren’t at risk and who have hadcan still spread it.
Vaccination does not carry 100% protection.

Also just because somebody has been double vaccinated doesn’t mean they can disobey the rules.

They can spread it to a vaccinated population.

Are you 29 as your bantam lad 92 suggests? I know 70+ year olds who are out and about getting back to life whilst you with literally no risk of death are still hidden behind the couch.

We have literally got ourselves into a situation where the general public need to be spoonfed haven't we? It makes my head hurt.

"I'm in an area where there maybe an increased risk, it's been all over the news for 10 days and we've been told how to deal with the disease for 14 months. Whatever should I do" ...."Oh look there's some guidance on a website that states exactly what we've been doing for the last year but I wasn't told about it this particular morning so now I'm confused"

If I'm honest should the government have told the media of the change. Maybe yes. Would we have then seen more inaccurate and false headlines about 'restrictions' and 'local lockdowns'? Undoubtedly yes. Would it have made one iota of positive difference to the compliance of said advice. Undoubtedly no.

The amber travel list is another one. There being a difference between things we are allowed to do and things we should do was something I thought we all learned in nursery. Apparently not.

I wouldn't expect people to check the website every day.

I would expect people in the media to regularly check it and report on any changes - just at they would do if they were specifically told by the government.

The advice is so light touch that it's arguable it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference when people found out about it.

There is no reason for a 70+ year old to leave the house in the midst of a global pandemic.. Where we have a deadly variant rampaging through our locality.

The sooner we are in a lockdown until this variant passes, the better. And I don’t think we’ve long to wait thankfully.

Deadly? More deadly? Less deadly? Or same deadly?

Here is an idea, you bunker up behind the sofa.

The rest of us will get on with life.

Can I ask why you will be taking the vaccine if you clearly have zero faith in it that you expect everyone to be locked up indoors.

Are you sarcastically suggesting the virus is incapable of killing anyone?

There are people on here who have lost loved ones to this virus.

No, I’m trying to work out what you are on about. Are you claiming the new variant is more deadly?

Here is from a Covid Press Conference a slide presented by Chris Whitty.

In this slide is shows you where the deaths fall and where the positive cases come from.

It's quite simple to understand, those under the vaccinated line (which has since fallen further down the chart) are the highest carriers of the virus but the mortality rate is tiny, your range for 29 year old suggest you are more likely to be hit by a bus.

The previous lockdowns were imposed because the cases in at the lower end were spreading to an unvaccinated upper age, that is now not the case as the upper age are in most cases double jabbed.

The vaccine is not 100% effective but the risk against sitting in a room forever alone is one that is acceptable.

Are you a WUM? No reason to leave the house, try exercise, mental well-being and just life in general. The vaccine is there to protect those most vulnerable, which it is doing as although cases have gone up slightly the last few days, deaths and hospitalisations continue to decrease which is the whole point of the vaccine! People are taking their own lives due to the isolation caused by these lockdowns, suggest you choose your words more carefully.

So here's what we all want to know. The headline results from the pilot events:

    1. There were just four cases of Covid across the entire 17 days of the World Snooker Championships
    2. No cases emerged from the Brit Awards, even though the audience could mingle at tables and in boxes without masks
    3. There were only two cases among 5,900 pop-lovers at an outdoor music festival at Sefton Park, Liverpool
    4. None at all at the reduced-capacity football at Wembley Stadium
    5. Nine cases were found among 6,000 revellers who packed into a nightclub in Liverpool over two days without masks

So out of 58,000 people there were 15 cases - and none at outdoor sporting events.

Oliver Dowden is confident we are on track for 21st June.

More probably got a cold or flu from the events. Good news. But let’s lock everything down quickly...
