2021/22 Season Tickets (now with poll)

I would have thought that the direct debit option to spread the season ticket over the season would attract more people if it was promoted well.

 

when the club ran the monthly scheme previously they posted the tickets out each month. That stopped when a finance company took over as the club got the cash upfront.

Unless they have installed working card readers across the ground they will bot have the capability to block a tickets

£16.50 a month for an average adult is the easiest thing to market in the world.

1 game is £20.

Go to 1 game a month and you've nailed it, even accounting for the two months of off-season. Across 10 months, it's only £19.80.

Should be remembered though it is still a 33% increase and it will stop some people coming

 

Really disagree Park. For a good few seasons a lot of fans have been agreeing that £149 for a season ticket is too low and doesn't help the club. Our new season ticket price is still - pending any other announcements from other clubs - the cheapest in the EFL. And given the massive hit the club has taken from the pandemic, a raise in price could never be anything but inevitable and sensible.

 

Yes, I think I'll buy one for £17 a month. Won't see many home matches but it will enable me to get access to away tickets if there's reduced capacities and I don't mind supporting the club for £17 a month. Pay £10 for the postcode lottery and so far I may as well have just chucked a tenner out of the window every month!

 

Yes but you and I and most people on here are committed fans as are probably most of the respondents to the survey but there is a significant amount of less committed people who enjoy coming but to bring their family with a big increase will deter. Hope your right but i fear we will be closer to a truer gauge of our support next season

 

But how can we progress otherwise Park? And in truth, it's hardly a massive rise, given the previously very low season ticket price. An extra fifty quid is a couple of takeaways for your family. My strong feeling is that in the end, if we rise better, play better, we'll take the fans with us. And tbh, I'd be amazed if after everything our lives, our sport, our lockdowns have suffered, people weren't happy to give a little more to keep our club going.

He is saying the increase is comparatively low because of how cheap they were but it is still £50 for an adult which won’t bother a lot but for some it will

 

Great price in my opinion-roughly what I said I would be more than happy to pay.

Loved the video-brought a lump in my throat and a wee tear if I am honest. Didn't realise how much I miss matchday and that walk to the ground.

Couldn’t agree more.
It still works out for 23 games ( I know that may not happen) at £8.60 a game.
In the big scheme of things that really is nothing to watch professional sport.
I mentioned in the other thread how seeing fans back has definitely reignited my passion for being back at VP as opposed to the sterile experience of ifollow.
Think ifollow may play some part in next season but me and the wife personally can’t wait to get back to the Saturday experience of watching our team.
Will be getting ours as soon as they are on sale.
Also agree with all the comments regarding the video.
Just made me realise even more how much I miss the football routine.

The only two justifications for the 25% price hike now, no matter how it is dressed up, would be:

1) the low prices have been the root cause of the teams under performance

2) the club is going under without it

Let's face it neither apply. I fear the club has completely lost its way and this is just a symptom of it, and will only impact on the least well off amongst us, at this most difficult time. I have been presented no evidence at this time to think otherwise, but I hope it does come. Also let us see how many of the trigger happy survey participants actually cough up and purchase, after giving the board (owner) the justification to do it.

Yes, ultimately I will buy, and keep hoping I have got it wrong.
