That's pretty much the way we played during the good run under T & S. To an extent I agree that it can be boring but Phil Parkinson has made a career playing exactly the same way Morecambe are and everyone looks back fondly on those years.

 

Our defenders aren't really good enough, especially the O'Connor's. Paudie just there can see the guy in front of him but doesn't sprint back to try and get a block in.

And going forward we don't have players with an end product. Crankshaw is much like Connolly was - runs around a lot, quick but poor first touch. Can't see him creating much.

Sutton doesn't seem effective in this formation.

We haven't been able to get the ball into positions to shoot, lots of crosses but not making much of them.

 

We might end up doing something really dull and getting promoted, or god forbid winning a league. 14th is much more exciting, maybe even a juicy relegation battle next season to get the juices flowing.

 

That makes us sound quite good compared to 1 point from the last 21 available.

Playing Saturday-Tuesday every week since January was always going to catch up with them.

I'd hate us getting into the playoff like Morecambe, much prefer finishing 14th playing total football. Whatever that is.

What I was saying is that our team, with its poor players and no real right back, was always going to eventually run out of steam.

Be interesting to see how clubs who changed managers at the mid season point have fared.

 

We need to hear from Ryan Sparks, not merely about having confidence in T&S to take us forward but does he expect them to deliver a promotion with the closed season signings because as has been said many times our last 15/16 games have been dire.
Come on Ryan lets hear from the club.
