If T&S had started of steadily and lost matches here and there and finished where we are doing they would have been praised for it. They are being dammed because of their brilliant run.
We could have appointed Hurst I have just read the apology of the Grimsby chairman for their relegation and he states they had the twelfth best budget in the league and had invested in thei GPS technology we are reportedly going to purchase in the summer but he took them the other way that’s experience for you

Yes they are damned by the brilliant run because it showed the players were capable but the management pair havent been able to keep them going. So something has gone wrong.

 

Without a doubt they over achieved which then gave us fans ideas of grandiose, although when asked about a play off place they tried to play it down as most managers do, unfortunatly the players let the cat out of the bag saying of course we see where we are in the league and want to get amongst the top 7.
Unfortunatly for some reason once we were safe we could not sustain anything like the form/performances to keep us up there, that is the worrying thing to most fan's, why is questioning T & S ability to take this club forward an unreasonable request, anyway as @Bantamsteve has posted the way Ryan is talking they will be here next season, I'm sure wether were in the stadium or not they will get the full backing of Bradford City fans.

Good piece in the Athletic on Grimsby and their previous owner, shows you what Hurst and previous managers have had to put up with. Having read it I’d not be so quick to dismiss what they’ve done in keeping them in with a chance until a week or two ago.

WHAT !!! We've picked up 7 points in our last ten matches, 8 maximum. Gave to agree though, if they had picked up the points they have at a steady rate rather than boom & bust we wouldn't be having this debate at all.

 

Look at the results we have 11 points from the last10 matches starting at Colchester

 

He did bring in a lot of players initially Dave, the likes of McNiven, Wood and Baines. In fact Napier broke our transfer fee record twice in a day, 15k for Wood and 25K for McNiven. Then he brought in Reaney and Bates from Leeds in the summer but they flopped and after being favourites for promotion after our relegation Napier was sacked and replaced by Mullhall. I think the Bob Martin lottery must have quickly dried up because Mulhall never spent much.

 

Thats always assuming we get off to a good start Dave if we are not top 10 at least after 10 games and fans are allowed in I can see it being a pretty toxic atmosphere This season we have had 2 major disappointments early season disaster when we all thought were going down then climbing away within easy reach of the play offs only to be let down again
Even cheap season tickets won't soften another hammer blow
Close season is vital they have got to get it right

 

Why stop at the Colchester game go back to the Bolton game at home and it's 13 points from 16 games, we can make their stats look good and bad, but there's no getting away from the fact that we have dropped off dramatically over the last 3rd of the season.
