Agreed, @Park bantam. I've said several times on here that he's never looked like he's been happy at City. All kinds of rumours and, generally, there's no smoke without fire. Something hasn't been right at the club for weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if it'sTurnbull who's actually engineered the move. Probably another "golden farewell". Nothing changes!!

 

This is what I said on 4th March. Not months but quite some time ago. I've no idea why we signed him knowing what sort of player he is and the system we intended to play. And I've no idea why he signed for us knowing the same.

part of his whole demeanour he played from the bench most of the time at Oldham and here and now is going back where he belongs. He hasn’t cut it. And obviously hasn’t impressed enough in training either

 

The stats that @Dennis put up with regards goals per playing minutes suggests he did deserve a chance, they didn't start him because the formation they play cant accommodate both Cook & Rowe but to bring Donaldson on in the 91st minute and then make some BS up about we have plenty of strikers, I despair, we were looking inept after 60 minutes (although according to Mark we dominated the game and made chances, playing like we did we'll win more than we lose) why not sling the lad on we could only gain from it we were getting nothing from the game as it was.
We brought Turnbull in to get the players into the club the football management team wanted I would hope they did due diligence on Rowe unfortunately it doesn't look that way if they are now saying he's made it common knowledge he wants out.

 

As he can't play for another club this season unless going to a non-league club is different he wont be leaving until the end of the season, as daft as it sounds 3 points would have kept us there or there about's but they didn't even give it a chance that to me is just bloody minded, if he's not interested he shouldn't be on the bench IMO.

 

So that suggests we didn't do enough with regards his footballing history, if your suggesting his bad attitude is the reason he's never played league football.

 

I wouldn't say it's a 'bad attitude', but he said he doesn't love the game unless he's played for fun in the past, at 32/33 I can't see that having changed.

Not mentally strong enough/too emotional/whatever.

Just not a football league player with a pro attitude.

 

Not all transfers work out. But given the introduction on our newly founded recruitment team with an emphasis on scouting and due diligence, its a worry that we're binning a player 3 months after he signed.

 

Bantams striker Rowe joins Chesterfield for undisclosed fee according to Simon Parker so maybe he can play non-league.

 

There's obviously a lot more to this than is being reported. I've read the spiel from Trueman tonight in the T&A and take it with a pinch of salt. My feeling is, if the deal goes through, there'll be a sigh of relief at VP, much like when Vaughan left. I'd guess due diligence was lacking, in the rush to sign him. When will we ever learn?

Rule was changed the season before last
5 goals in 9 games (not all started) ain't a bad record in my book
Dropping a division just to get out of VP seems a bit extreme so something is amiss

You could be right mate, lets hope once again we let a striker go ( in this case getting a fee) that next season doesnt leaves us with egg on our faces like James Vaughan, I agree was it a matter of time running out that we took a gamble and signed the lad.

I was not sure but once Parker said that Chesterfield had signed him they are obviously putting their trust in the lad to fire then to promotion, as yourself I've no axe to grind with the lad he goes with my best wishes.
