He also seems skillful, able to turn a man and create space and score goals. Who cares about his facial expressions if we can harness that going forward with the right additions to those behind him? I couldn't believe we subbed him on Saturday tbh. We're constantly giving the strikers 60-70 mins every other game and expecting them to produce the goods to order. Doesn't work like that.

He's that good he's been unable to nail down a regular starting spot. He doesn't look a team player to me. As someone else on here has stated, lazy, strolls about and expects others to run the hard yards for him. He's never looked like he's wanted to be here.

 

He's in league 2. He's scored goals when given the opportunity. He's playing a role / position by all accounts less preferred when starting, which he does every other game. For me he can stroke one off in the corner, go buy an ice cream and stare malevolently at his team mates if he puts the ball in the back of the net every other game.

Actually, it's one in every third game for City and one in three and a half games for his short spell at Oldham. Still not a bad record if he does it over a full season....if he lasts that long.....

Probably be a boring low scoring one again to continue the trend, but hope I’m wrong. Regardless of results now as the seasons over imo I want to see some improvement going forward and entertainment. I’m spending £10 I don’t know why probably because I’ve literally got nothing else to do so I hope it’s actually worth it.

 

I think you would be hard pushed to describe either vernam or crankshaft as wingers. Neither of them can take on and best a man the way beagrie, read, Daley, Marshall, summerbee, Hutchins etc could. They rely on pushing balls into space.

They are pretty poor imitations of a winger.

Crankshaw looks like Gilliead mark II to me, neat and tidy but offers little although I hope he proves me wrong and improves. Vernams got something but drifts in and out of games, but as has been pointed out his best spell was actually central as a number 10 for Grimsby. We’ll have to see how he does but maybe we already had Cooke’s replacement, but that leaves the question why play Evans there for 3 games when he can’t play there but Vernam can?
