Not sure they knew about the clause in his contract

 

I'm not even having this conversation. He was an absolute shambles in every role from start to finish. (Except as a player, obviously).

 

Or that he was magic, and wore a magic hat

What are Rowe's key attributes? Fast, strong, fit, nippy. I'd not heard of him until he stored that goal against us?

 

Looking at the videos, he looks like he’s not afraid to have a shot. Seems he takes pens and free kicks too. Maybe, just maybe we’ve found a guddun.

 

According to wiki he's 6'1" and as yourself I've only seen him the once for the full 90 minutes but he dragged our two cd all over the place being a general nuisance.
He was certainly prolific at AFC Fylde.

 

His last goal isn't bad.

Novak a doubt for Sat according to Sellars vid. Might thrust Rowe straight in then?

It is bizarre. That scoring was unbelievable (Jeff), especially as it was maintained over 6 seasons.

 

He was a bit of a legend in non league circles and nearly got Fylde into the football league.

 

The proof of course will be in the pudding. Let's hope Rowe goes on to score a hat full for us. And | think he will. Man U youngster, two footed, great header of the ball and free kick taker, scored not far off a goal a game for an ever improving Fylde side, and some important goals for a poor Oldham side. The big mystery is I guess, why did it take him so long to get this far? A legacy of non-league players not just being regarded as seriously as they should be over the last five/six years by Div 1 and Div 2 clubs feeding for free off Prem and Champ Under-23 loan players? Hope Danny helps buck this trend.

 

Fylde were very surprised when Rowe asked to leave in January 2020, and hopes he would retire there. He is from Fylde, was enjoying his football, at a decent non league side and presumably wanted to help them into the league - I remember reading about him when he scored a crazy number of goals (40? 50?) one season, but there was no chance he was leaving back then.

Apparently his agent told him to give it a go at climbing the leagues. At least that's the official story.
