Isn't Huffer on loan too?

I think you can sign as many on loan as you want, but can only include 5 in any given match day squad

 

Huffer is not on loan. He signed a short term contract until end of season

You're right, my mistake. I think my point on loans still stands - In our relegation season I think we had more than 5 loan players on the books at one point.

We already have non league forwards on our books such as Guthrie, DMH, Donaldson & Samuels.

 

I know someone who watches BPA regularly he reckons this lad could be a very good player

 

Early 20s I think, scoring goals two divisions below, just the sort of player we should be looking at. Not saying we should sign him, but if we were in the championship and a 22 year old was scoring a few in league two you’d expect the scouts or the manager at the very least to go have a look.

Or in other words, a decade or so ago 23 year old Jamie Vardy was scoring goals for Halifax three divisions below us.

I’ve no issue with us looking at him. We are struggling in L2 and standards are low. He won’t cost the world. These are the sorts of players we can add value to.

When he signed his latest deal at BPA the T & A said he was a speedy winger. He came through the Leeds academy...... we seemingly have strong links. Huffer knew a few ex Leeds lads when he joined BPA, this lad must be one of them.

 

I don't mind us looking in the National League for players. There's talent there. Whether I trust us to scout properly and identify, then recruit that talent, is another matter.

 

No harm in having a look, if the first impressions are good take a punt on him.

 

Young goalscoring winger, local team, wouldn't break the bank. Might just be having a good season, but it's a no brainer to go take a look at the lad.

Some people will give it the "why are we looking at BPA players?!" response, but the lads on form and if another L1/2 team gives him a deal and he does well, it will be the same types saying "why didn't we go for him? he was only down the road".
