    More reason to make Wood an offer and if he wants to run his contract down as he believes he can play at a higher level fair do's, at least that way the club can say we made him an offer which he turned down.

    What exactly are waiting for to offer Wood a new deal? He's 24 now, meaning he can sign a pre contract agreement with other clubs and leave us on a free. He's one of our few better players and one of only two who we could command a fee for, even if its a small one.

    Not worth a fee, but I'm sure a few League One clubs would consider him on a free. Someone impatient like Fat Steve might pay 50k to beat the queues, though. He's stupid enough.

    Why would he sign full stop?

    He joined a League One club to play League One football.

    We've taken him as far as we can, IE, the foot of L2.

    Going off what Jamie Raynor tweeted today, we haven't offered him one and he'd be open to stay. I just can't understand why we haven't offered him one, whether he'd sign it or not.

    This will be a good test for our new CEO. Novak has made similar noises based on the T&A website report this morning. So, if you’re Ryan Sparkes do you offer Novak and Wood (2 of our better players) new contracts now and then risk the likes of A O’Connor, Donaldson, Guthrie, Pritchard all banging on the door asking for new deals? But then if you don’t want them at the club beyond the summer so decline their request it affects morale.

    I also don’t think we’ll offer new deals until we have a new manager in place (whoever it may be). Like with the transfer window, all you’re doing is potentially giving the next manager the never ending Bradford City headache of having players at the club he hasn’t chosen.
