Used to know a Bristol Rovers fan. Waxed lyrical over Chris Lines but think he was about 31/32 then.

 

Agree but he was also a snake. He told the club he was in no rush on numerous occasions....had no intention of signing one but indicated he was going too. Norwich were sniffing around with a bid in January but he wanted his free transfer signing on fee.

 

James Meredith tried to leave every Summer since we signed him.

He had no loyalty, and fair enough IMO.

Climbed his way up from non league, wanted to keep climbing.

That's not in the least bit true. He openly said he needed championship football to force his was into the Australia world cup squad. If we'd have gone up instead of Millwall he'd have happily stayed.

I'm not sure how we can blame him for showing ambition.

 

He was a brilliant player for us though and always gave 100% on the pitch.

 

Some people just don't understand ambition, unsurprisingly when it's City fans. He gave his all and honoured his contract there's nothing more you can ask of a player that isn't a lifetime fan too.

Parky and Meredith were both professionals who left Bradford City when their ambitions no longer aligned with what the club had to offer - strange that they would get criticism on a forum where some posters want jokers like Ched and Steve Evans.
