Yeah exactly. No longer can we have a Parky where as well he did he demanded everything went into the player budget. Fine it worked then but as you say salary cap now so we can’t anyway. If a manager says he won’t work with head of recruitment then we say thank you very much but you’re not for us and move onto someone else.

We have a scouting team who have 3 or 4 targets for every position and know the budget. We are proactive in the transfer market and if we sell Connor Wood or Reece Staunton on the same day we announce our new left back/center back and we don’t leave the manager short.

We have individual training plans for players when injured and on the way back and they are firm with the manager of players cannot play. And to be fair we don’t need to rush them back either if we have the right cover.
We should then stop the crap loans from prem youngsters who just aren’t good enough for this level. Either not good enough or not ready. We need men and strong players. It’s clear. Get out of this league then go for flair.

also if a player decides to run down their contract or won’t play we are not held over a barell to get rid. We have someone ready to sign who’s realistic.

 

Cowley isn't a championship manager though is he ? One season in league one and 6 months in the championship before bring sacked really don't put him above our reach. He's an out of work coach with 90% of his experience at league two and national league

Stuart was and always will be a legend at this club. I was fortunate to witness the entirety of both his playing spells for the club and there is no-one I'd have wanted to succeed more as a manager.
He couldn't have tried harder to turn this round (probably to his own personal detriment) but as has become clear, he was onto a loser with this squad of absolute shite and the state of the club as a whole. In addition, we know from his track record that he does not turn around losing streaks. His position had become untenable and as has been mentioned, todays announcement is 100% the right call for both the club AND for Stuarts own wellbeing.
That said, the problems at this club run far deeper than just the manager. The club is rotten throughout and without major change I fear for us.

 

What like another Fleetwood or another salford city. Non league clubs who throw money around like sweets but will never get more that 4,000 crowds. Why would he want to work at a club that has no real potential once the salary cap really bites in.

you really think this will make a big difference? Not sure what there is to celebrate, maybe some can view Stuart as just another employee, I dunno, I find reactions like this a bit unnecessary. Let’s wait and see what your new manager does, will it be just another Grayson, Bowyer, Hopkins or that other fella?

 

Not sure why he would do that. He'll have got a decent payoff from Sunderland so won't be financially desperate. One look at our squad would tell him it's a steep uphill battle. Would he really want to put himself through that again?

 

You’re right buddy, we are deep in the sh** even with Stuart gone, but I’m just so happy he’s gone now.

Overall though we have a mountain to climb now, I am happy though the club took the decision before January came, I had zero trust in McCall to sign anyone decent in the transfer window.

I hope the club sign someone capable of climbing this mountain we have to climb, the damage may already be bad enough for us to go down this season.

Time will tell. But I can only be happy that McCall is gone, it’s put a massive smile back on my face, especially as it’s been done before January.

I just hope the club are targeting good managers with great back room staff, if it’s another cheap appointment we’re gonna be getting the same sh** happening again. This is Sparks chance to prove to everyone he’s capable of running the show as CEO.
