With the way we recruit, the best we're likely to get is a couple of under 21s on loan from championship sides. Not what we need by any means, I'd like us to bring in a mix of experience and some young talented lads from non league who have at least had some exposure to competitive mens football. Signing over 30 non league journeyman strikers like Tom Denton is absolutely not the way to go considering that type of signing is what got us into this position in the first place.

I don't think there were any credible rumours, just posters on here saying he's one we should be going for. But what do we know, none of us spotted the talent that is Austin Samuels.

Nobody has spotted that talent, as it doesn’t exist.

I’ve seen more from Samuels than Kurtis ‘18 month contract’ Guthrie

I’m sorry, did I say Samuels was good enough? I said I have seen more talent in Samuels than Guthrie. I’ve also seen more pace, skill and work ethic in Samuels than in Guthrie. I don’t either are particularly good, Samuels might be useful as back up to two or three good strikers but Guthrie is up there with the worst players I have seen at City.

I wasn’t comparing him to Guthrie, or anybody else for that matter. I will concede that Samuels looks like a footballer, however Guthrie and BRE are in the same category as big Kai as can only be classed as footballers as they won it as a raffle prize.

The biggest issue we’ll face is who in their right mind would take any of the utter dross we need to shift to make room? They’re not good enough for a squad near the bottom of the league, therefore no one I’ve league 2 will take them nor top half of the national league. I hope they’ve enrolled at the local college for courses in statue making. They’ll make good models....

Other clubs are not daft, They can see us under performing due to poor coaching and tactics, They know like the players that once away they will be better players, Some will have already talked to there agents on the quiet

Kai looked like he knew he’d won the raffle and that he owed it City to put a shift in. BRE and Kurtis look to me like they’d rather be somewhere else.

Nah, you can see Guthrie and BRE are pro footballers.

Kai clearly wasn't at that standard. Semi pro maybe.

    Agreed.

    Agreed.

And yet I'd take Kai over those two any day.

Used to love when Kai was getting ready to come on as a sub and the assistant ref was checking boots etc.Kai was like one of those dogs that wants to be let off the lead because he had so much pent up energy.Unfortunately once he entered the hallowed turf he proved that he was here purely down to winning a raffle prize.Semi pro is about right

I have to admit to having a lot of affection for Kai, limited as he was. I would have loved him to have scored just one league goal in front of the Kop. He'd still be celebrating now

Couldn't disagree more. I am fed up of sub-standard players turning out for us, and just because they show a bit of schoolboy enthusiasm doesn't endear me to them either.
