I suspect that with all the issues around coaches/ developing youth and paedophilic behaviour that no one out there wants to be known as a coach who is good at bringing youngsters on (or off as the case maybe) in the current climate.

He reads the drivel on here for a “story” and guess what you get drivel to read which supports the continual drivel even more.

Existing players could become unsettled the longer this goes on and we don't need any more instability. I personally don't mind too much about ideals, but it is more and more apparent that Edins reluctance to adjust his objectives is alienating him from the perceived attributes required of this division. I support him as owner but worry that he is going against the tide on the two critical aspects, those of pay scale and his hellbent desire to involve himself in the selection of targets. As many have stated on here, he feeds off a hands on approach, fair enough it's his business, but if he has learnt anything about the English game, he should be treading with more diligence. I thought that I would be wary of an untried coach being brought in (Gernan or otherwise) but really it is the owners inexperience in our game that now worries me more. If it works for them and It has to for the benefit of BCAFC then fine but it does make for painful debate.

 

A very damning article if indeed it is accurate, but I guess you only have to look at the events since Edin and Stefan took charge to be able form an opinion of its accuracy.

PP left within days of the initial meetings. McCall, who was apparently never truly at ease with Edins “interference” resulting them having a frosty working relationship, both admitted by McCall and visibly obvious on the Matter of heart DVD whilst discussing transfers. Allegedlly asked to leave following the play off final, of which he refused and then ultimately dismissed 4/5 months after.

Yet I think the most glaring pointer which adds weight to this whole notion being true is the Simon Grayson saga. Proven in this division numerous times. A chap who yeah, seems a little up his own arse, yet knows what it takes to bring success at this level. We had him through the door and following meetings with the chairmen at the end of the season, decides to walk!!! It must have been a pretty dire deal on offer, or the whole method of working to be implemented must have just been unacceptable to him. Rumours of a massively reduced budget yet maintaining the aim of promotion is clearly not something Grayson believed to be possible.

Edin himself stated two weeks ago on the Bantams Banter interview that the recruitment of a new coach was in full swing and we should know something definite by early last week. We’re now late in the following week and still no news. It suggests to me on the balance of probabilities that something has gone wrong, that the shortlisted candidates have indeed turned it down, and it cannot be a coincidence.

This model that is to be implemented is clearly not appealing to any coach worth his salt, word is circulating in both the footballing and media circles and alas we appear to be in one almighty mess. I’m now firmly in the camp that the methods to be employed by these owners is unlikely to bring us anything but a relegation scrap this year. It is both unrealistic and unappealing and I can’t see us getting out of this predicament anytime soon

If much of that Mail article is to be believed, we are in a right mess. I cannot believe that the players are still waiting to hear when to report back for pre-season training. How amateurish is that, for example. The fact both experienced managers, and young coaches alike, appear to be turning us down, is a massive concern.
I have remained patient during the past few weeks since Grayson did one. I was giving the owners the benefit of doubt in believing that they were doing their homework and carefully selecting a shortlist to ensure they got the right man in.
This national article could now seriously damage our ongoing recruitment drive for players, and Riley and Wright must be beginning to wonder what they have let themselves into.
I can only now see a panic internal appointment, such as Drury or Collins, actually is Collins still here?, or perhaps a German coach, who could be persuaded to have a go.
Thank god the World Cup is nearly upon us to distract us from the shambles that is ensuing at our beloved football club

 

If ever there was a time for a club statement to put the record straight about what is actually going on, that time is now.

 

don't believe everything you read - the contracted players were given a return date for pre-season on their last day before summer as they are all given an individual programme to maintain fitness through the summer (such as weight to come back at, etc). also we have no idea if the job has been turned down as we have no knowledge the job has been offered to anyone.

 

I can see it now, news from both by 7 tonight, no hold on it’s been delayed

It's now 3 weeks since the Rahic interview when he said"we must do this more often". The time is ripe for another.

 

I would like to know what is delaying the recruitment of a new manager. Very easy to say it takes time to get the right candidate but they aren't helping themselves by allowing the process to drift along. Its not like any of the possible candidates is waiting for a top job, managers should be busting a gut to join us but it seems something in the process ain't working.

 

Wait a minute park, you ridicule people for believing that article yet you willingly believe someone claiming to be ITK on a forum. Both are unsubstantiated, you can't just play one "rumour" against another

I've said before.....the lack of official word will only fuel this problem and the longer the club leave it the more these articles will pop up. If there isn't going to be a manager in place tomorrow will they at least give a statement of some kind?

 

i don't think anyone is saying he is lying, all people are asking for are some hard facts or quotes from people. if biggs has known this for so long, then why now? why today and not 2 weeks ago or when grayson left? the problem with journalists is that they are all after the same thing - more hits and more retweets of their articles. they can drop a story with no quotes or giving the club a right to reply and then it's out there, no taking it back. does it effect their career? no. does it effect a club they don't give two shits about? yes. but that doesn't matter to them - it's job done.
