If it is true and the kid comes to City I'm with you on this one, are we seriously putting our hope's in a 17 year old kid, I get the "if hes good enough he's old enough" I cant get much info on the kid but just how near is the kid to playing real football.
He's obviously a long way off the first team squad, sorry it's a no from me, if Hiwula has still not found a club surely he would be worth a put 9 goals for us in 41 appearances most of them being from the bench rather than an unknown kid.

 

A great place to learn, Staunton is only 18 and he didn't look out of place and yesterdays game showed how teams in league are trying to play football, trying being the operative word. Age means nothing if you're good enough.

 

I am with you regarding Hiwula. The kid from Palace has made the bench a couple of times.

 

Rooney was only that age and it didn't stop him.

 

Last season City had Oteh, wasn't great but wasn't bad either.
This season, no chance of getting him back as he is on the bench for QPR.
Have to take a chance on some young unproven players as we have failed to bring in better than we currently have.

Unfortunatly in this lads case he will be judged on his ability to score goals, and if the lad takes time to adjust to proper football and does not hit the net I can imagine what this forum will look like.
Id say playing full back and not looking out of place is far different to a kid you bring in to cure our goal scoring problem, time will tell if it turns out to be true.

Hey come on, 8 weeks of hard work and planning have gone into this - perk up a bit!

 

I've not seen the lad play so i can't comment on how good he is but its the most likeliest avenue of us getting a new player. The likes of Josh Cullen, Reece Burke and Lewis O'Brien had never played a first team league game but looked a level above straight away. In fact O'Brien cleaned up at their POTY awards a month or so back. Might be as much sense going for an unknown as some league 2 plodder who people want just because they've heard of him. Now we start to see if we have a scouting network or not.

 

Comparing him to Rooney. Come on. He’s gonna have a massive step up in league two. Yeah it’s nice if he comes and he’s good but we can’t wait about for someone to get up to the pace. As @Bronco says go get Hiwula

 

Its odd how we've had posters moaning about how old our front line then when weve got young blood that we can develop people moan too. Genuinely i think if we got him he'd come good.

 

Its a no from me and of the rumour is true then Rupps programme notes are complete rubbish. Signing some 17 year old kid who has barely played any adult football is just laughable really. Is this how far we've fallen?
Looking at his stats he needs to play football with his own age group before we even consider a loan move. Surely we can find someone with a bit more pedigree and experience than this?

 

Umm OK. The lad looks a real prospect. He looks hungry to succeed and shows good ball skills.His pace is frightening and he would terrorise any league 2 defence. I do hope the taxi has been sent to T'Interchange to pick him up and get his signature asap. Promotion by Xmas I think.
