Bit more info from the club, updated season ticket total is close to 8000

 

Thats not bad at all. If we get a busy few days , leading up to the end of ticket sales, we might reach close to the 10000 mark. Which would be in my opinion brilliant

 

The worrying bit on the new article is the

supporters being allowed back inside sporting venues, which could come as early as October.

Could come as early as October doesn’t sound confident.

The could bit is hardly good news to the hardy souls who've purchased tickets.

 

I think the club , are just covering there back. Can you imagine the outcry on here, if they said you will be in by the begining of October and it didn't happen.

 

Theres a DCMS committee meeting on Monday exploring how arts and sporting venues can return to capacity WITHOUT social distancing. Here's the blurb from the agenda notes:

"MPs will specifically consider how sporting events and live music performances can safely resume, including alternative plans to allow reopening of venues at capacity without social distancing. These include proposals for audience members to have to obtain negative Covid-19 test results to be admitted to live events and venues. The use of testing and digital ‘health passports’ to allow safe attendance at sporting events will also be examined."

Theres a feeling within theatre at the minute that a uturn is coming and social distancing could be scrapped by November for theatres as long as other mitigation measures are in place. So I would feel quite confident that we should be able to have socially distanced football atleast by October.

Also the trials at Cambridge upcoming should provide good evidence. It will all come down to the behaviour, compliance and largely restraint of the fans though.

 

How do they see if the trials are a success? Do they test everyone before and then drop a few positive people in the crowd and see how many catch it?

 

They aren't measuring it in that way. They are more looking at how well people follow the distancing, how the flow of people works, incoming and outgoing. Are people complying with instructions etc.

 

I am not sure the intention is for people to catch it? It’s more to see if these events cause any spike in cases? I imagine anyway

 

But if no one that attends has it then it doesn’t matter if there are 1,000 or 100,000. Without testing before, and then not waiting two weeks to wait for the spike
It seems strange

 

I suppose the negative covid test element will work a lot better should these new 20 minute tests prove to be adequate. I won't hold my breath though.

 

if we are waiting for those then the 21/22 season could be our next game with fans

 

Decided to get ST for son and me this morning even if we can only get to 5 games. Just a heads up though no receipts were given as machine is down so if paying by cash as I did, give a email address and take a note of time and what you paid.
