If we're adding "quality" to the back four why doesn't it make more sense to add it in the one position we don't have anyone for?

 

Norwich had a 100% pre season in the year they got relegated to League 1, and lost 7-1 at home to Colchester on the opening day.

 

So with Vale signing Robinson today, it looks like Maynard has turned them down and could be heading back to Mansfield. Could that possibly open up the door for Rose to leave and if so, might we be in with a chance?

Id rather have Danny Rose who's younger, class in the air, and has the ability to score great goals, over some mercenary journeyman who really can't be arsed being at City. He'd be a long term signing

 

Defence ain't shonky as you put it. We were 7th est defence last year. we were let down by goals scored. I'd prefer other defenders but what we have aint shonky.

 

Is that the one who scored 21 the season before last and 14 last season who Mansfield want back Maynard is a good footballer as well and would fit in well he is a much better player than Rose

 

They have played Bamber Bridge, Loughborough, Atherton and Accrington Stanley

 

Just read they played Stanley off the park with some great football and the reporter was giving high praise for their pre season

 

Unfortunately a large part of that was down to the extremely negative tactics not the quality of our defence.

 

Fair enough, however I am not one for reading too much into pre season performances and results

 

On the previous page you've just used Rose possibly leaving as a reason Mansfield have been weakened!

Early on we were, if I remember it was the best defensive start for years, by the end we looked like we could ship 4 or 5 every game.

We wasn't at Mansfield, we were bloody awful.
