Sounds like Guthrie preformed well, odd since our genius fans said he was awful after one game.

We would have the most efficient scouting system if we sent each of these individuals to games across the country! After 90 mins they'd be able to tell you who's perpetually crap and who's a superstar...

 

although perhaps lets not go too far the other way after 40 mins in a friendly

Midfield weak and let them run through us and back four all over the place but we created some good chances and its a start, Am sure we can and will get better

 

Looks like its going to be a Newcastle United season. Lots conceded and lots scored. Big bonanza next season for the over 2.5 goal punters.

Great to see our midfield and defenders observe social distancing, just like at Salford. I’m sure McCall will say the lads were triffic but a defence horror show in that clip.

If we only have room for one defender Stuart might want to consider playing Sutton at RB and signing a new Centre Half because that is rank defending.

 

Got to admit, despite having 5 or 6 who can play there, central defence is a big concern of mine this season. Pressure on the forwards to deliver, because I cannot see too many clean sheets.

AOC is a bit of an enigma. He can clearly defend, but a lot of the goals we’ve conceded over the past couple of years have come through an O’Connor *@?$ up. Personally, I don’t think he’s playing in the right position. He played as an out and out RB for Northampton where he made 50 odd appearances, and also filled in there for a game last season where had a blinder. We’ve also seen him play in midfield where he did alright, and a quick look at his record shows that he also played as one for Plymouth Argyle. Not sure then that moving him to either position would be a ‘makeshift’ move, but doing so will allow him to showcase his defensive ability without his mistakes leading to direct goals.
