I am as sick as most on here tonight mate. Don't get me wrong, I did say yesterday that not fussed whether he left us or not, it's just the way we seem to give in so easy. Who else would let their best striker and top scorer from last season leave for free to a rival and probably pay him a severance fee to mutually cancel the contract.

The only saving grace now is for an exciting young signing or two to be announced in the coming days, but I am not holding my breath.

If we were getting nowt as you say why was a player offered there has to have been a negotiation

All depends what the whole deal was. They may have offered the player but we pay up his contract in full. Instead we have come to an agreement with the player directly and Tranmere have given us nothing

Nonsense. Just today I agreed a mutual termination with an employee who will get nothing. The agreement just means neither party have any claim against the other going forward. I did one last week where the employee just got an agreed wording for a reference.

A mutual termination could have been agreed with Vaughan which just removes his obligations under his original contract, we may well have paid him a sum but it's by no means compulsory to make a payment.

You could be correct but surely you can see why a manager can't work with a player who openly says he does not want to be at the club, bad influence in the dressing room as with Phil Parkinson Stuart wants players who want to be at the club, he's gone we'll live.

    Tweet from Simon Parker
Hearing #trfc opened negotiations with #bcafc for James Vaughan by offering Stefan Payne as part of a package - Bantams knocked it back ...

this suggest there was negotiations what was that about if it wasn’t compensation

You do realise that things can change, right? Just because it started out one way doesn't mean it has to continue that way.

Tranmere probably made an offer to us or maybe several offers, we couldn't come to an agreement with them so we came to an agreement with the player instead.

So you believe the club again?

You believed them when they said Vaughan wasn't leaving and no you fall for it again?

Vaughan the bad apple? Really? Not having it myself.

Park it may suggest anything you want, but the fact remains - The club has agreed to terminate Vaughan's contract.
Am I to suggest you agree that ?
If you do, then you obvously then agree that a fee therefore could not have been paid by Tranmere ?
Why to you say compensation, His age dicates its either a transfer fee or nothing

Or do you mysteriously think that Tranmere have given US a tranfere fee for Payne whom we don't'want or have not even signed from them.

Christ almighty, are you deliberately being this obtuse?

Vaughan was under contract. Tranmere offered Payne in a swap. We said no. We probably asked for a fee. They said no. Vaughan was being a sulking Twit so we agreed to terminate his contract just to get rid.

    Really not that complicated.

All i can assume is tranmere didn't want to pay any fee and we needed to use his wages elsewhere. If we get some decent players in for it, it'll be no skin off my nose.

More to the point, how bad is this Payne fella if WE knocked him back?

As things stand now, we are not the strongest in the league but there again, we are not the weakest. Hopefully, further signings will include a goal scorer of sorts.

That's the problem though isn't it. With the salary cap now we can probably only afford about another 3 players over 21 and letting Vaughan go means the club financially saves his wages but can only use the league average amount under the cap. So we won't be able to get anyone near his level probablu or we could if we pooled the wages we were going to spend on other players and bought one player on higher wages.
