He would be next term wouldn’t he? So wouldn’t stand instead of trump this time? Trump will get in again and then over to Kanye to have a go. Abysmal

Some very rare cases of not following the rules “lane ends” being one.

But point was it looks dramatic in Australia because they lockdown much quicker and on a larger scale than us when there is evidence of an outbreak. We won’t do that and didn’t at first either. Be interesting in Australia as is this “winter“ for them now? See if cases increase

Although the experts say climate has nothing to do with killing/restricting this virus, I'd be very surprised if there are less than one million lives lost across the globe by the time we see a vaccine.

I find it very funny that @Fordy117@Fordy117 slates Boris for dodging questions etc but totally skips past a post asking him if he'd paid his losing bet up.

He has kept that particular rabbit in his hat at the moment. All we've heard today is the good news on how the Govt will try to head off the unemployment numbers once furloughing ends. The bad news on how we will all pay for this will be arriving in a couple of months.

    Is it?

I don't see a plan... Yes 18-24 might do pretty well but over 25 are not going to take an apprenticeship.

Hospitality VAT reduced to 5% is good but and the vouchers per household but a virus is still out there. What we saying that it's gone and we should all ignore it?

1k to get people back from Furlough isn't going to be enough mate. Companies will have made their decision if they want to get rid of people.

I'm not sure the plans will create jobs are all but it's a start.

Doesn't matter to the over 70's cashing in on their pension I suppose.

Pleased for you.. leave it to us young ones to repair the economy. This bailout isn't that great.

Hope you cash out on your pension though, as it will be getting cut.

How don't you see a plan for the industry that has been hit the hardest? VAT reduction and the £10 eat out vouchers to kick start hospitality certainly looks like a plan to me? £1k won't save every job but it will definitely help retain a lot too, the government can't be responsible for every job loss can they? I'm afraid job loses were inevitable when a crisis like this happens and the UK isn't a unique case.

We could easily pay for the virus and recovery costs by printing the money over 12/24 months, The economy could easily absorb a quantitative easing programme of say £500 billion, It would be a free hit as it will not cause inflation under present circumstances and put more money in the economy
