There are only two strike partnerships that stand out since I've been watching (1995/96) - Blake and Mills, and Hanson and Wells.

Deano on his own scored more than a lot of the partnerships we've endured the last 25 years!

Seeing Bobby getting a bunch of mentions, did he play with Don Goodman as well. Don was massively underrated for us. His scoring record after leaving us was pretty good. Seem to remember him tearing Kenny Burns a new one when he came on at VP years ago. Old Burns looked like he was running in treacle as Don left him for dead to score at Bradford end.

Yes, bits and pieces of three seasons.

Campbell & Hawley for me, followed by Mills & Blake, and then Hanson & Wells.

Same for me. The three partnerships that stand out for me in over 50 years of watching

Think its worth remembering the level at which the Mills/Blake partnership was performing as most of others have been in 3rd and 4th tier

For me it has to be Mills and Blake. Watched a lot of Mills goals. He could score with both feet and his head, a tremendous centre forward on his day.

McCole and Stokes were a good pairing.Stokes mainly on the wing but both
scored regularly, but in those days any player we had that showed quality
didn't stay when bigger clubs got interested. The money never seemed to be
used for strengthening, just keeping the wolf from the door financially.

As you say in those days it was usually a successful Bradford businessman who was chairman, I remember OS Wain, the mens cloths shop back of Brittania House it was a social thing rather than a business, as you say any player this potential that could be sold with a profit they went.

Rankin only scored 4 goals during his time at City. Not one of Geoffs best investments.
