I listened to Question Time last night. Shame I can't go on next week as I am little over 30 but Steve Perish the Crystal Palace owner was saying the next 2 months are vital that we need to reopen now and encourage businesses to do more to help but they're not going to do more when everyone is at home.

Palace and other clubs created their own app based on how you feel and who you've been around.

If we don't get the next 2 month right this country is in big trouble he said because kids are missing out on education, the economy is struggling, unemployment is at a record high and worse of all we talk about a second spike but haven't even coped with this spike yet. If we don't get the next 2 months right we will be paying for this for the next 10 -15 years.

Alan Sugar has basically said the same on another show. If we are to live with this virus the government telling everyone to stay at home isn't the answer.

the techs been there the entire time, but the head the balls we have in govt decided we could do it better with no evidence to support that we could or even needed to. there was literally no reason at all for us to try and do what we've done apart from what I can only guess is arrogance. Decisions like this will cost lives in the long run

This is another massive issue I have with how we've handled the virus. My work have said that the government hasn't said shite all to them about when they plan to re-open pubs etc so they're relying on the daily briefings like the rest of us. to say the messaging was so strong with the stay at home stuff, their communication with industry has been god awful.

Unless the alert level drop to 3 is a precursor to an announcement very soon but yeah I agree, the pub industry does need to know like yesterday..!!

Read a joke the other day from a land lord saying that estate agents were now allowed to reopen and prospective buyers could have a look at properties.
So he decided to put his pub on the market for sale and whilst prospective buyers were having a look around they could have a tipple ;).

That's the sort of thing I imagine my late brother would have done at his pub..
Don't think there's any one person in the country that know where we are with all the rules and regulations around this virus...

The government has been shocking with businesses in telling them what to do when opening. The chairman of Oakman has just said he is opening on the 4th of July no matter what.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-53094134

However, the Scottish government yesterday never said anything about pubs opening and I Boris & Co seem to be backtracking from for pubs opening on 4 of July.

The government need to lead now and make decisions to fully open up the businesses ASAP. Stop telling people to stay/work at home will be a start.

Who owns Serco? Is it another jobs for the boys under government contracts? Much like this majorit of this fight against the virus?
Why we let this misuse of public funds go on in this country and do nothing about it is beyond me. We are so weak as @Fordy117@Fordy117 would say.

Yeah she is and she got Cheltenham to go ahead before lockdown due to being on the board of the jockey club.

the app developers are allegedly part of Cummings extended family. Typical.

Serco is owned by an eton college graduate and mate of Boris. You just can’t make it up and we are happy to just let it happen

And Hancock is from Newmark who in horse racing terms the place has strong connections to Cheltenham.

For Cheltenham to go ahead they had to allow Liverpool V A. Madrid to happen also..

Both events have highlighted the virus spread in these places.

Conservatives putting their own interests before the public and it cost lives.

I saw the name of the company and supermarket in a report yesterday. Think it's public knowledge already.

Yeh, just checked, the factory has been named. My MIL is a senior manager at their other site in Normanton, she’s naturally worried, as they share staff between sites.

Such 'outbreaks' should help inform us of where it's safe to relax the restrictions and where it is not.

If it is established that these factories are the source of the outbreak, then the government (public health) need to establish what weaknesses enabled the virus to spread. Were they following all the rules/guidelines or are the guidelines/rules insufficient?

Until we get a really effective vaccine/treatment, I feel that we are lacking information on how the virus is currently spreading. I would hope that this is being thoroughly investigated, because it should help inform us which restrictions need to be maintained, or even strengthened, and which ones it might be possible to relax.

We know the theory of how such viruses spread; we now need to get answers as to how this particular one is currently spreading.

Was it level 2 we were supposed to open shops? Think they opened at level 4. Not even sure it means anything anymore
