I don't understand how it will cost city £500,000 to restart. Yet other owners/chainman that figure is bull sh!te ,its nowhere near.
Not to worry, I haven't taken what comes out of vp towers as gospel.

 

@wetherbywhaler mentioned it could be a 7 figure sum to find if we were to play again. Astronomical. Why so high I don't know.

 

Andy Holt, the Accrington Stanley owner stated that for Leagues 1 and 2 the cost of restarting the season was an absolute minimum of £600K per club

£150K for testing, and £350K minimum to bring their players off the furlough scheme. Additionally, £100K for ensuring ground compliance

No income from ticket sales, no match day sponsorship, no ground income from sales

The loss of TV revenues to Leagues 1 and 2 is minimal compared to the Champion and Premier League

Total non starter - thank goodness people like the lady from Port Vale still prevail, and put the good of the game before self-interest

I expect an overwhelming majority (around two-thirds) of League 1 clubs to vote AGAINST restarting their season next week - the eight or so who vote to restart will be the extremely wealthy clubs, and those with either a realistic chance of avoiding relegation, or achieving the play-offs and/or promotion to the Championship

See the comment from momkinmotion below which attributes comments to Andy Holt at Accy, one of the most straightforward Chairmen I could name. Additionally Tony Stewart of Rotherham said in today's Yorkshire Post it would cost them between £500k and £1m to complete the season. His comments are why (as someone else suggests), the majority of L1 Clubs will vote for a stop to the season, absolute common sense which should have prevailed weeks ago and would if the EFL had been stronger in dealing with the likes of Posh and the Black Cats who they have allowed to bully them.
I have referred to Steve Evans' comments on another thread, there is a growing anger against the EFL and their weakness, I understand the LMA may be going to table a motion of no confidence if this goes on.
Fortunately, as things stand we will not be playing again this season but as I've said already there are serious doubts around some play off clubs at our level as to the costs.

 

I don't believe the play off teams are paying for the testing. I think it's part of the new tv deal.

@Rcbantam is right to question but the testing would be costing 7 figures but because the EFL wasn't strong enough and didn't highlight what they wanted then it was hard to know who was going to pay for the testing.

The key is who is going to pay for the testing going forward. The season can't start without testing.

No, I am saying he's right to ask questions.

It's not about how is running the club it's the disappointment of the EFL not outlining plans and how things would be possible.

 

There's an 'any other business' section at the end where individual points, not on the agenda can be raised.

 

As @wetherbywhaler says they should stop the season when they meet on Monday and set a target date for next season

That was my point. It's a structured environment. Questions can be asked and were and have been minuted.

No. Having attended many, many such meetings the AOB bit was the best part. You never knew what was coming.

In this case @Fordy117 needs to get on the board and ask the questions keeping him awake at night.

 

Do you know if your owners are actively looking to sell?

 

Why do you ask that @Swindon have you heard something your end ?, I'd be very surprised if any lower league club owner was not open to offers, so I'd say given the right offer our owner would be delighted to get out of something he has very little interest in apart from being conned by hos previous partner.
