Agree Jon. Luton sacked entire management team yesterday to save money. They are 6 points off safety and clearly see what's coming ie season finished and relegated. I don't know for certain if work has started on their new stadium, if it has then another financial drain. This could be the first concrete sign of the trouble ahead that we all know deep down is coming to the game which itself is in denial still right to the top.

Taken from an article that uses “moral” instead of “morale” in its opening line. Just awful and no wonder they are dying

Rolex watches cover a vast price range, and there isn’t a 9/10 year waiting list! Yes they are a premium brand, but that in itself doesn’t mean a higher level of profit, per units sold, or higher profit in general terms, if a budget brand sells far more units! Personally I prefer Patek Phillipe, which is a more discreet watch!

If you have been to Old Trafford, Eastlands, or the Stanley Park area, then they are far from salubrious! Those Cities have a lot of poverty ( Before the coronavirus hit, there were 400,000 people that were estimated to be in food poverty in Manchester alone,” https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-52412119). So are you saying that there is a high level of sales of Rolex in Wytheshawe? Despite sponsoring Man Utd, having your name emblazoned on their shirts, then stuff happens (the worst-selling brand is what caught our attention. The automaker in question is Chevrolet, which managed to deliver one vehicle in the UK in January this year. https://www.motor1.com/news/229715/chevrolet-january-2018-uk-sales/)

Personally I think you can start to increase prices for products when demand outstrips supply. So it is important to maximise footfall and if that can be achieved, you can then start to think about increasing the price. To do that, you have to improve the product and make it attractive to enough purchasers!

He was getting sacked anyway. They still have to pay off their contracts. So when you think about it's more money going out for them.

Yes, they is no cash flow coming in for football clubs. Football club will need to find away. Need solution minded people in. Football had it easy due to the service but now clubs need to be smart.

Luton will finish building the stadium if it's not done already.

The longer this season goes on for the lower leagues the more players we have out of contracts and the issues that arise there. it’s ok for the premier league they don’t have half their squad out of contract every year.
what do you say to a player? We don’t want you but will give you a 3 weeks contract to make sure the team can finish the season? How would that work? Surely he would be looking for another club and not wanting to get injured

In terms of Rolex. Sorry I meant for the Submariner and Daytona watch. 9/10 year waiting list. If you don't believe me call any Rolex dealer this morning and they will tell you. Most won't add you to the list. Try it!

I fully understand supply v demand and I get want you say about improving you product. Many times I stated Gary Bowyer and other bores were wrong for this club because they don't make the club attractive. However, if you say had the price at £200-250 for a season ticket we would still get you 8-10k hardcore fans. You don't lower the value of your brand because overall you become less attractive to deal with.

Understand that but that's what league 1 and 2 clubs want. They just looking to bin the players off.

Have league 1 & 2 clubs for example hire or let the players use a mental health advisor? Point is these clubs want the players to take pay cuts but don't look after the well being of the players because all of a sudden now they want rid of the players.

Do the clubs care about the fans. NO. They don't give a jot about you mate. If they did it would be we need to get out act together for the fans. What do fans want? They don't care what you think.

I read it that the contracts were terminated by mutual consent. So I doubt they have been paid off.
And they are not accepting any job applications either.

You say clubs should be solution minded to find new cash flow.

Football clubs are businesses that need cash flow like any other. Money can not be magically found unless each club sets up a go fund me page and asks for donations.

Merchandise sales could bring some income in. eg this seasons top for £10 etc however that will not be enough for most clubs.

Maybe clubs could ask sponsors to donate but again a lot of them will be shut down and suffering their own cash flow issues.

Online lottery. We already have one but is it right to promote gambling when many folk are furloughed and struggling with cash flow.

Social distancing rules out renting rooms out for events.

    So what else is there?

In leagues 1 and 2 and the championship clubs would not exist without the fans. So to say they don't care about fans is almost as far fetched as you owning and running a successful business and driving around in a Merc.

Football contracts work differently. Mutual consent is just a cover up. Luton will have to pay out them contract.

    Good effort. Least you try.

Parliament happened with 50 people or so.. does social distancing really rule out events? Think deeper on that one.

Merchandise not bad shout. Again think deeper.

Point is like it or not clubs will have think out of the box. The clubs that do that will be fine.

Business and Merc is fine thanks.

If clubs cared about fans in div 1 & 2 then they wouldn't be crying. Businesses are struggling but football has supporting bodies to turn too.

Don't worry you will be able to do you walk of shame soon enough.

Go on then. Think outside the box. Offer suggestions as to how football clubs fund their way through the remainder of the season if played behind closed doors, and likely part of next season too.

Most of the next season, if they is a next season mate.

If you end this season then you lose connection with the fans in most part and then it makes even harder to make money.

Cash flow is low but businesses will have to spend more on marketing and advertising over the next 3- 12 months.

No suggestions from me... look it's not going to be easy but clubs need to start doing things now. Portsmouth for example have said they are already planning for life without fans for the next 12/18 months..things can be done to generate money- always!

"They are 6 points off safety and clearly see what's coming ie season finished and relegated."

So the season should be terminated now, but allow promotions and relegations? Your mate down in Plymouth will obvious want that as he implied in his club statement yesterday. He'll remember last season in League One. At the same time last season Plymouth were 12th. That's top half. 9 matches later they were relegated. They won't be relegated if this season continues but they only have to drop one place and they are in the Play-off lottery.

People are saying, including some on here, that if the season is voided then Leeds should be promoted. "They've deserve it". Again like Plymouth if we look back to last season, at this point they were top. Aston Villa were 10th, 22 points behind them. That's a heck of a lot of points. Remind us. Which of those two teams is currently in the Premiership and which is still in the Championship?

Not just because it is Leeds but they don't deserve anything yet.

Back to League One and following on from last night's conversations. The league places are decided after 46 games. That would mean that teams would have played through the huge pressure of the last half a dozen games. Can we stay at the top? Can we get up to the play-off spots? Can we get out of the relegation zone? Check where Plymouth and AFC Wimbledon were after 37 matches to see what I mean. After 46 games the top three go up automatically. One of the next four go up but only after 90 minutes of a Play-off final.

So my view is this. And I am not biased and I'm not a scientist or a politician . Find a way to play the season out. Whether that is by June or September or whenever. Clubs can then say with honesty "We have earned this promotion". Or "Well, we deserve this relegation".

If that cannot be achieved then the season needs to be null and void. Null and void means it did not happen. Therefore no promotion and no relegation. Integrity and all that.

So to cut this long story short. If any league chairman votes to stop the season before all matches have been played but to still allow promotions they should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

Null and void would cripple clubs due to them having to repay season tickets and sponsorship etc because the season didn't happen.

However, I 100% agree with your other points. The leagues have to fine a way to finish no matter when. Too many agdena driven chairman about.
