Me too, I posted as such yesterday.

To be fair, I have lost interest in this season. Tough decisions to be made by the EFL if this is going to be the case though.

Accrington chairman Andy Holt said last week that if the EFL ordered the season to recommence behind closed doors he would rather not turn up for fixtures and forfeit the points and risk relegation. He said it would cost his club extra £500k to fulfil the fixtures and pay wages to players out of contract in June. His priority, he said, is to safeguard the future of his club, and plan for next season, whenever that can start

No sure we'd feel the same Idle if we we're in the position of Crewe or Swindon to be fair & that's the crux of the matter.

Reading this morning's press it seems like yesterday EFL/L2 meeting was a shambles. Scathing criticism from Rovrum and Scunny Chairmen. Main point is why are EFL getting captains together to make decisions, why not Chairmen. Rotherham £550k short on cash by end June and predictions now several clubs will go under. Even UEFA suggesting season might finish sadly EFL prefer meetings rather than decisions, they need Dave Baldwin in there now before Rome burns to the ground and we loose the game at lower levels, he will bring clarity.
I know Fordy is still hanging out but the season should finish where we are before the next horror of players contracts and more fudging arrives.

It is always going to be self-serving. Those clubs in the promotion frame from any divison will of course want to continue, those like us in the middle as well as clubs in the relegation frame will quite frankly be happy for the season to be voided.
Litigation will almost certainly be forthcoming from some if the season is finished , either voided or by some artificial means to concoct an ending league position.
    Minefield at the very least

I acknowledge that. I have been one of those saying all along that this season should finish, but as time goes on, I am beginning to wonder whether it actually will now. I would not actually be bothered either way now.

The thing I don't like about the player contracts is that the clubs are not thinking about the players.

Say a club has 6 players out of contract at the end of June. Them 6 players will be let go and we know that transfers are not going to be done on mass levels this summer, meaning that them 6 players will struggle to find a club.

Also I just think that some clubs are hoping the transfer window gets extended because they know next season ISN'T HAPPENING and they won't sign players, meaning that they save on wages!

The clubs are thinking about themselves. Not thinking about the players or fans. The most disgusting thing is that they're using the Furlough system to play the players then they will sack them off and the tax payer will have to pick up the bill.

You won't be bothered about next season because guess what? No vaccine mate! Not happening.

Football means a lot to people.. it's a realise. It gives hope.

I don't know if you have kids but think about them children around the world wanting a little bit of football in their life.

    Stop thinking about you!

The lack of leadership is palpable, not just with the EFL but in the PL and from UEFA. Nobody seems to be leading.

From the outside, UEFA seem to be doing nothing more than issuing aspirational statements like 'we'd like you all to finish your seasons please'. Throwing out token dates which keep moving back. The PL has been a shambles, the EFL likewise. Nobody willing or able to make the tough decisions that will be necessary and instead, they seem to pinning their hopes on hope itself - a blasé notion that testing and government intervention will somehow pave the wave for games to be played behind closed doors. None of it has been thought through. I said weeks ago that all seasons should be ended and voided across Europe for consistency, with all thoughts then turning to how to get next season lined up and to make contingencies for a delayed start and/or a second wave of this in the winter.

And reading Skyports this morning, UEFA will issue a proposal to League Associations on guidelines for early season termination by Mid-May!! Another month from now! Oh good, because that'll be helpful. Not like that information has been needed before then. Shambles is the word.

You're do with football. I can tell! Nothing wrong with that but your relationship with football is over.

However, what I can get understand is why the EFL, PL and PFA are not cover covering help out clubs.

I've nothing wrong with any industry trying to get round this massive issue the world has. I read this morning about how airplanes will change. All industries and businesses will need to look to change things

Football will have to go behind close doors like most sports. As for dates.. so what! It's a date! I hope it's a date that happens. I am bored with this pointless lockdown because of a lame ar&e sh&t government. However, I would expect that we move forward in improvements in testing etc as months go by and I doubt the country will be able to cope with another lockdown for another 3 weeks after this. People are braking now!

So I don't see anything wrong with what football is trying to do but I still love the sport!

I'm not done with football, I'm just in touch with reality. I haven't missed Bradford City one bit, largely because I gave up on us having any sort of ambition or plan to move the club forward a while ago. I've started to miss top flight games though, largely because of the social element that goes with it.

But as I say, I grasp the reality. Yes, football, as with all industries will need to adapt over the short, medium and long term. But a desire to see games return and a dismissive 'play games behind closed doors' view, isn't a plan. The reality is that we're still in a lockdown that has no firm end date. We don't know what an exit from that lockdown will look like, or how long it will take, we don't know the extent to which government intervention will be applied or for how long - so we simply don't know when or how football will return. It's all well and good looking at other countries who are 'getting started again'. Other countries are cancelling their seasons. Every country is different.

UEFA can not come up with definite plans or anything because they have no power. UEFA could say everyone will restart June 1st and play till their season ends, but then a couple of governments say no it throws it all up in the air again.

I just think at this moment football has to try. I see nothing wrong with that. The world understands what's happening but remember football is a business and if you were called back to work tomorrow you would go!

What you going to do? Resign because of this virus? NO! So don't dig football out for trying to get back.

Nobody should be called into work unless its essential and safe. That's the point really. I'd love to see a few games
whilst we're locked down and not able to do much. I really would. But it just isn't a priority in the wider scheme of things. We have much more pressing priorities.

Pressing issues that can't be solved.

I admire your posts. Read them alll but you know we don't have a vaccine and not much anyon can do.

We need to increase testing(Hancock says that's happening), we need to flatten the curve(Hancock says that's happening). After that not much we can do.

Businesses have to plan to move forward because this isn't going away. I just feel that some football clubs are using the situation to benefit themselves and it makes me sick! The clubs know this isn't going away and just want to reduce their wage bill, not think any the mental health or their fans and players.

For me I just can't understand why they can't say we will end the season if possible even it's it's in September/October and start the next one in November. It's the constant BS talk from div 1 & 2 clubs that's making me think what a set of sharks these clubs are. The ones that want to end the season are thinking about themselves and I have voiced my worry about Furlough with mass redundancies after league 1 & 2 are highlighting my point!

I've bashed the government but things are improving. Yes, discuss change but don't act like snakes!

The same issues for this season will apply for next.

So if next season isnt happening, how is this season going to continue?

I want football in my life as much as you say children do. However, it isnt happening anytime soon, and there is not a lot you, me, or any other fan can do about it.

There are far more pressing issues to deal with in the coming weeks and months.

My point is, if we can't find a solution for 10 games then how are we going to for about 50 next season.

NO VACCINE! More than likely a second or 3 wave! You have the ACON, Euros, Olympics.

Please tell me how NEXT SEASON works? It doesn't.. so concentrate on this!

Don't be fooled by talk of next season.. clubs are using that as an excuse! Next season doesn't happen and they know it!

There's a huge difference. Firstly, taking 3-4 months to plan properly, from a clean edge, is a lot different to figuring out how to end/finalise a season that's already 3/4 complete. You can build in clauses for the season afresh, in the event of subsequent waves of infection and these can be built into the terms of commercial and playing contracts. Secondly, those 3-4 months will allow more time for testing and vaccine development, or at least, for social distancing guidelines to be established in more everyday walks of life. Thirdly, the level of complexity in managing impacts to subsequent seasons, transfer windows, player contracts etc, becomes much easier.

Its not just about playing the games, its everything around the fringes of it. Write off one season, to get ahead of planning for many subsequent seasons.
