Yeah I'd heard the Brewdog rumour but not the joint venture with Reds.

This time it's come from Marko (bundobust) so may have legs.

That's why I hate booking anything where others are involved, there's always some arsholes who will let you down. Best way for the woman to react is just not to go back. Seems like both parties have cause for complain, if the owner can't be bothered to have someone man the phone at his business then I'd go elsewhere. Lack of professionalism not answering the phone.

Don't know if it has been mentioned on this thread, but my friend has just started working at Hullaballoo in Shipley. Loads of different Beers and the owner is a professional Chef so started doing food as well. Can't comment on the food as I haven't been in since they started doing the food recently. They have live music most weekends as well saw a great Reggae/Ska band there the other week.

From memory think they were going for Caribbean style food. Don't make the same mistake as me when the train broke down at Shipley, thought I'd nip down and see my pal whilst I was in Shipley. Doesn't open Monday or Tuesday. Had to settle for a couple of pints in the Sun Hotel until the trains started moving again.

I've been in there, bit weird for me as l remember it as The Connection as a kid. I only had one beer because there was a strong smell of damp. Will give it another try in the summer.

Ah, the good old Connection, remember it well.
It was boarded up for a good few years but i am sure? it was raided by the Police as they found a cannabis factory upstairs
so are you sure it was damp you smelt and did you feel chilled when you left the establishment?

Wow, a non curry/burger (concept ones too) place! I'll try this soon. Is it where the old Russian restaurant was? That was a sad loss to Bradford.

I've been several times on works meals but I've never understood the widespread love for the Classic Persian. I'm not a big kebab fan, so perhaps that's why. If I eat out I want something more interesting than a row of meat lumps on a stick, and I have always found their non-kebab offerings to be bang average.
Bab Tooma Syrian restaurant on Wilton Street knocks it into a cocked fez IMHO.

Must admit, the menu didn't sing out to me when I saw it on Twitter.

Rice is my gastronomic nemesis, but I hope to be converted.

I guess it's just personal preference. I love a good kebab, I've had some beauties this week in Berlin. I've tried the Classic Persian, I agree to an extent that a Persian menu can be restrictive but I really enjoyed it. Give me that any day over some of the poncy shite I've read on here over the years. Give me a good feed any day to someone's interpretation as to what a good meal is.

I like a good bellyfull too. I'm no fan of five baby vegetables, exquisitely arranged in the centre of a large plate, with a suggestion of sauce on top. Usually for an eye-watering sum (you know who you are, Yorke Arms).
I don't dislike kebabs, but just find them a bit boring for a meal out. If I want a meat pig out I'd rather have a steak, lamb rump or a good curry. I just think that Bab Tooma does the middle Eastern thing so much better than Classic Persian.

I love risotto, but otherwise I find rice pretty dull. I'd rather have noodles with Thai/Chinese etc or chapattis with curry.

Lamb is my favourite, curry to me is over rated take away food. Don't mind steak but would be a low down my list of foods.
