...and nobody would have been there to witness it other than the Grimsby fans!!

 

I remember going to the Burnley pre-season game when Stu came back after Parky. He'd only been with them a few weeks and remember Rory playing it around at the back like a proper footballer rather than just look for the diagonal towards Hanson. We played some really good football so am optimistic that given time he will get them playing some good stuff, we had more 'forward' passes from midfield today than the last 8 games put together!!

 

Love it, nice one @Keefly Bantam and well done @Fordy117 for taking it in the right way. Bloody McCall is already working wonders.

 

I have kept saying this when Henley is getting hammered from the fans, this lad is a good full back. He is not a wing back!!! Some of his crossing was great today, in the first half he put it a brilliant cross, and nobody got on the end of it. He worked his socks off, as did Connor Wood.


We were all disappointed not to get the 3 points, but to be fair we didn’t deserve all 3 points. However, compared to this season as a whole it was much better, it will take Stuart 2/3 games to pull it around in my view. Hopefully he will find 11/13 players he can rely on to put in winning performances.

There is a lot of hypocrisy on here. I thought the tactics were spot on given the state of the pitch and the players we have. But I thought the purist on here didn’t like “Hoof” and it was a hoofest yesterday

 

I would have subbed Connelly much earlier he was flagging for a while

 

Novak shouldn’t have claimed the goal because he was in an offside position when Cooke shot.

Hoof fest? Were you watching the same game as me? Sure, there were occasions when hoofing was happening but we strung more passes together yesterday than we have all season.

 

You are seeing what you want to see it was all long ball with two in midfield possession football it was not. And the right way to play now we have the players for it in this league

 

Cooke went onto the left, You could clearly see Stuart getting his attention to come over on Ifollow

 

At least two offside on that still.

 

Just a couple of observation after what was an enjoyable match to watch after the dross of the last few weeks,
Connolly never had the beating of an excellent full back and should have switched wings or should have been subbed much earlier.
The subbing of Pritchard was a mistake unless it was for injury, Akpan seemed to struggle to keep the shape in midfield and the confusion led to the equaliser,
They did deserve something from the game and Holloway has given them organisation and belief something which we need to emulate going forward which from the past am sure SMc will achieve

 

Missed two great chances I thought too. The one on one where his heavy touch let him down and the cross which he screwed wide

 

His primary job is defending. He was awful for their equaliser. Beaten far too easily and looked like he couldn’t last the 90 minutes to me. Otherwise a good game as you say but the game is 90 minutes long for a reason. Improvement needed

 

Even though Connolly had a poor game after he went off the equaliser was always going to come down that side

 

If you think that was a celebration you must have some miserable get togethers you and your midgets, the difference between ours and their celebration was like chalk & cheese, were you at the game ?.

 

And after he went off our goal was always coming from that side.

 

You must watch a different game to the rest of us Park.
