Time to draw a line under the negativity for the rest of this season

It would be great if we could get positive and get behind the team but unfortunately there is nothing to be positive about. Lose at Oldham and it’s just going to get worse. Promotion looks less likely now than it did last week. Performances and form are really poor. The manager was unable to get anything out of Doyle and not much out of Vaughan and on paper the players brought in do not look like they will be good enough to improve us and on top of that attendances are also on the slide. Would like to think it won’t get worse but it sadly it will.

 

But don't forget how dangerous Oldham are, they have some really good players so you back 9 don't go over halfway and knock it long to Clayton, he'll save us a point!!

 

Change the bleeding record @Fordy117. You hijack every thread repeating the same old crap about Bowyer, Rupp and Rhodes. Unless you've got £10 million mixed amongst your porno mags under your mattress, who else is going to buy the club?

I agree with @XCIV_Bantam, the negativity on this forum and towards players who've just joined the club is terrible. We've seen what happens when things turn toxic and now there's nowhere left to fall.

How many managers have been successful at this club in the last 20 years, 3 maybe? You make it sound like the good managers are just there to be picked. The odds are that the next one will fail just as badly.

Until we have a 5, 10, 15 year plan nothing will change.

Why don't you focus on supporting the team rather than being hell bent on canvassing as much anti Bradford City feeling as you can.

 

I personally think that the two players that have come in will bring us goals Guthrie looks a big unit Novak always scores against us and if it’s viv otombar coming in he ripped us apart for Blackpool am glad Doyle and Vaughan have gone Doyle never wanted to play for us and get the feeling Vaughan thought he is to big for this club it’s time to start to get behind the lads happiness in the camp brings promotion negativity doesn’t

I am always believer if you can’t do anything about a situation then it is time to just roll up your sleeves and get on with it. That doesn’t mean I am happy with the management of this club, but there is absolutely nothing I can do about it today. I deplore the lack of communication from the club, mushrooms come to mind!

Enough is enough this is our team and atm we are in the playoffs and in theory still in with a chance. I want to welcome all our new players, they will be excited and chomping at the bit to get started and bringing enthusiasm and confidence to the team which is always like a shot in the arm to any team. It is a new day, and anything is possible.

 

I won't change the record until the club shows some ambition!

So just because we have an owner that's ruining our club we all have to just accept it? Do you want to see conference football soon? Or the club struggling for money because the owner gives no f@cks?

See this is the problem with a lot of Bradford people they just sit back and accept the sh&te they're given. Look at what happened to Bradford Bull and now their ground is empty.

So please don't come here and moan about negativity when yesterday highlighted that the club had a lack of ambition or no direction!

If you want to hide under a rock you do so. It will be summer soon and you can put you head in the sand if you want.

I suggest to fans not to buy their season ticket under Bowyer is gone or the club starts highlighting some ambition.

Yeah, I am a stuck record but seems like a lot of fans are waking up to things now.

I'm less bothered about the winning and losing, after all we can't win every game.

What I'm more bothered about is trying to play in a decent way and in the last couple of months we seemed to have changed our formation, style, system so much to the point where I don't want to go because I know the standard of football will be awful.

Just try and play in a decent way and hopefully we'll win more than we'll lose and get up the table.

 

It is nit that ppl are accepting what is going we are not. Name me one happy bantam on here? None is the number you are looking for. As a group of supporters we cannot change things as none if us have the resources to buy the club out. I will check my lottery numbers but I am fairly sure it us that kind of money that is required to change ownership and invest properly in city.

We just have to get on with it for now. The players are stuck in the middle of this and will play better with our support.

Some say the club is driving supporters away. For me there’s an element of some of our own supporters driving others away when you hear and read some of the comments that come out.

This window is far from a disaster as some are making out, and there is still one unannounced name to come:

DMH - has anyone followed his career and performances closely since he last left? We’ve bleated on about needing width and pace within the squad and he brings that. Can some not be satisfied and give him a chance before writing him off?

Novak - decent past. Good experience and often a name that causes teams problems in the lower leagues

Guthrie - ok unknown. Stats are decent enough so unless anyone has an educated insight on him, let’s give the lad a chance.

Oteh - divided opinion. Did ok but wasn’t going to make or break the season.

Palmer - didn’t work for him for whatever reasons. Others ahead of him in starting XI so best for all he moved on.

Vaughan - a strange one, but for one reason or other he or the club wanted him to move on. Again, not had the desired effect we would have all hoped for despite a decent goal return. From a player for player POV, what did Vaughan give that Novak can’t?
From a club captain POV it wasn’t the leader I was hoping for, definitely not in the Gary Jones, Stuart McCall, Stephen Darby mould.

Doyle - we never played to the strengths he obviously has. Poor execution by the club on this one and based on his comments since officially leaving, then I’m happy for MY CLUB that he’s gone. Good luck to him, disappointing for and by us, take it on the chin and get over it.

Window is done - one more to be announced. Time to get our heads down, get behind the club and all do what we can to try get promoted.

Alternative option - moan about everything we do. Berate the players and management. Create tension between all. Make following the club a miserable experience for all connected and essentially leave ourselves open to be exploited by each opposition we come up against.

There’s plenty of time for a reconciliation at the end of the season. There’s a campaign to play for which we are still very much in the mix of. Can’t we come together like we have in the past and work towards what i hope we all want???

 

Well we can change things. Don't buy your season tickets. Don't go to games.

The only thing we have to do is hope:

Hope Bowyer gets the sack or leave
Hope Rhodes leaves
Hope Rupp sales up.

However, not expressing your feelings gets you nowhere in life.

As for the players I am sure they're not happy also.

If the club has given up on promotion then why should the players and fans care?

 

A fair point. Long term who knows whats happening but for the next 6 months lets see what does. The ball is now firmly back in Bowyers court. He has brought in two new strikers on 18 moth deals, that means he has to get the best out of these two unlike his efforts with Doyle and Vaughan. The club has to move forward from here, i couldn't care less whether that is with Bowyer as manager or another incumbent.

 

I didn’t go to the last game. I haven’t bought my season ticket yet. I gave the Board a year to sort this out. I expected the Board to do everything in their power to get us promoted this season and although I still might renew if in this division but it would be dependent on my assessment of how the Board have performed and so far my assessment is not positive at all. I may even just buy a flexi to keep my seat and not turn up until things improve.
I actually don’t know what is going on, but until I do I am not going to renew.

We need results, the club can't think that fans sit back and accept rubbish or we are in trouble short term and long term.

 

Why don't you find something else to do with your time. If it upsets you so much, don't go, don't renew. What do you think will happen if we take your advice? I'll give you a clue, does Bury ring any bells?

I get your cheesed off, we all are. I too hope things improve both on and off the pitch, but absolutely nothing will change off the pitch until the summer at the earliest, given the timeframe needed. Managerial change could happen sooner, but that'll be as a result of us being hammered week in week out and any true fan won't want that that to happen.

All we can hope for is improved results and performances, to achieve the aim from the beginning of the season... promotion, by any means necessary.

 

you don’t need to worry about our fan base giving the team 100% backing but that will only happen with vastly improved results and performances. If the fans witness the same old same old today, next week the week after why wait till the season is dead to voice further disapproval. We’ve sold nigh on 2000 tickets for today now that’s commitment. We the fans have done our bit so over to the Manager and players to give us a performance deserving of such support

 

Promotion is a long way off when a club acts like it did yesterday and in the window add that we have a manager that fans don't like.

Maybe, we should alll find something else to do? Save money, save time!

Look, if the club isn't going to take itself seriously then why should fans?

Some people just can't handle the truth or negativity but it's vital people face up to it in life because if you don't you will never ever improve!

 

You're right, there doesn't appear to be a lot to be positive about this morning after yesterday. It doesn't help when names like Grigg, Agard, Spearing and Jordy are banded about in the rumour mill because what we ended up with after that was always going to be a let down and leave us feeling, 'is that it?' If the club really wanted to get the fans back on board, get attendances up and have any hope of selling a decent amount of seasons tickets next year, they needed to show they meant business yesterday to give everyone a lift.
In trying to look at the positives, we have got rid of some players that clearly didn't want to be here and may well have been disrupting the dressing room. That could potentially make a massive difference as long as the players still here do want to be here and want to fight for each other out on the pitch. I hope the players we've brought in also want to be here and do well for us - they are players that have come from clubs with little or no chance of promotion so they should be well up for giving it a right good go now they are at a club where that is still possible. I will continue to support the players and live in hope we all get the promotion we so badly want but if we do, one thing you can guarantee is it won't be pretty to watch.

 

Maybe it's time for you to leave your 'support' of Bradford City and take that support to another team who does all that you expect of the owners and management. You are deeply unhappy, that is clear. Perhaps it's for the best?
