Time to draw a line under the negativity for the rest of this season

    I understand that our performances haven't been up to people's expectations so far, I get that the January transfer window has been disappointing. But the blame can't be placed squarely on Bowyer's shoulders, there have clearly been cost cutting measures in January and whether you like it or not Bowyer is here to stay until the end of the season at least. You can jeer and yell and boo but all it will accomplish this season is to demoralise the team and further reduce our chances of promotion. If you must then chant and jeer towards the end of the season when all hope is lost, it doesn't serve any purpose now.

    As it stands there are still 16 games left in the season and we have 47 points, over the last few seasons in league two teams typically require 70-75 points to finish in 7th place. Incidentally the last team to finish in 7th place with 69 points was Bradford City in 2013. So I reckon we need a minimum of 23 points from the next 16 games to make the playoffs.

    It's very achievable. If we can string together a few wins in a row then it becomes significantly easier. Put aside your feelings about Bowyer, Rupp and Rhodes, at least whilst we still have a chance at promotion. Lets get behind the team for at least the next couple of months and see if we can turn it around.

    Trouble is it was tall order when we had two top of the best of strikers in the league I think it is almost impossible now. We have been conned all season.

    16 games and 23 points is not a tall order, it's achievable. That's five victories, eight draws, and three defeats. Or six victories, five draws and five defeats. Or seven victories, two draws and seven defeats.

    I think Boris is looking for someone to bring the country together after Brexit. Might want to turn your attentions there. Pulling this lot together in positivity for the rest of the season is mission impossible IMO.

    With no disrespect intended, but ain't aiming for 7th, just a negative intent? We are o ly 5 points of 3rd and 9 of top. Ain't that the objective?

    When your manager is papping himself about Oldham's home form (four wins all season) then you can pretty much forget your five, six or seven victories.

    Bowyer has gone for workhorse forwards to add to his already dreadfully defensive set up.

    We'll get all the draws you need, no question, but we won't be getting those wins. Sorry.

    Well that would be the ideal scenario wouldn't it? But based on our current circumstances I don't see many people who believe that we can make top three.

    I don't think that we can get the gold medal but I don't think we should give up on bronze just because we really wanted gold at the start of the race.

    Well I don't actually believe a top three finish is realistic, but if you believe a top three finish is realistic then what I said is doubly true, people should stop being negative on match day for the next couple of months for the sake of our top three promotion challenge.

    It is really getting to me how toxic this forum has got recently. I get home from work and see 90% of this forum is moaning about how a player we havent heard of must be terrible. Just an echo chamber of depressing opinion. To be honest im just sick of it. Hanson came from nowhere and so did nakki wells.
