How do we know that's not what he's been doing behind the scenes on the training ground and in the dressing room? He hasn't ran off anywhere either, he's been forced out.

His actions say it all. He’s left the club six months into a three year contract.

You may be right. But given trouble has followed him during his career it would come as no surprise he’s had another strop

Note, it was halfway into the season that Sunderland offloaded him too. Coleman moved him on to Wigan. Maybe its just a coincidence but when you pay £500k for a striker you’d hope they stay longer than six months. He isn’t averse to jumping ship, shall we say. He booted off with the Mackems fans in his time there.

We got a loan fee, if I was a betting man I'd say he didn't get much choice. It looks to me like we're clawing in every penny we can get while desperately cutting the budget.

It is worrying. If we haven’t replaced him in the next 48 hours then it very much looks like Rhodes doing his traditional January panic because we undersell ST prices in the summer then bank on cup runs or player movements/add ons to bail us out mid season. If nobody is brought in the fans will be in uproar and fanbase will be further decimated by next year. Imagine Patrick being our ‘replacement’.

Cost cutting would also have other trust inplications. It would suggest Stefan is no longer backing the manager - he said in summer he’d cover any budget deficit this season - not pawn the captain midseason?

Apparently the club said in programme recently that funds were available to strengthen in Jan too - so that would have been a lie......

Yep, rhodes wouldn't let any money go towards upgrading the dire pitch, bowyer could not get his coach of choice,
freezing the season ticket at £150 with less take up very likely will mean less player budget next time.
Looks like things are heading south big time, just too many fans dont want to see the big picture here.

He was not the top scorer for Bradford City so we've done the right thing if he actually goes back, there is no point in keeping him here, we obviously can't play to his strength and he looks like a fish out of water playing here here having at times to go back to the halfway line to receive the ball, best for all parties.

Bowyers comments about the move suggest they approached us for him and he wanted to play at a higher level.

There’s no reason we shouldn’t take that at face value, especially given that Vaughan has tweeted his support to us for the rest of the season. If he was really upset/bitter about something then he probably wouldn’t have done that.

As long as we replace him properly (No, Patrick doesn’t count) it’s not that big a deal really.

His issue is with Bowyer, not the club. If Bowyer got the boot, he would've stayed.

Something must have gone on/been said that brought this situation to a head, has he's been stupid enough to challenge the manager in others ear shot if so there's only one winner.

If there been a bust up that has to be better than an angry James Vaughan in the camp, we've seen his antics on the pitch, not sure I'd want them sort of antics around the rest of the squad.

if he is being disruptive yes you do, strong management and swift to act. They need to get a good replacement in though, until that point I will reserve total judgement.

Here we go boys, Omari is the answer:

“We had Omari Patrick on the bench (against Cheltenham) and I’d looked at introducing him back into it. He’s looked sharp since he’s come back from his loan."

    @BantamScout on twitter...

"For those of you getting excited about potential inbound transfers, a reminder that we have:

No recruitment team X No data analysts X No video analysts X No strategic partners X"

All of the above is exactly what the club should be investing in. The club is a complete mess. Forget on the pitch its time we look off it to see where the true underlying problems come from. No medium or long term vision. The only thing worse than a bad plan is no plan.

Vaughan wouldn’t be the first over hyped striker we’ve had with a big rep and an even bigger wage packet, he was no Sean McCarthy that’s for sure.

Other than Huddersfield town and his early career at Everton, seems to stick around at clubs for two minutes, speaks volumes that. Tranmere is his tenth club since 2011!

Thinking about this a little more, it's an absolute piss take by the club. Two unhappy players we have to move on, fine, do it. But for feck sake surely we had someone in mind? I can't honestly believe that the club were confident on getting Grigg leaving us with the square root of feck all with two days till the window slams shut.

I'll be honest it is starting to grind my gears that we must be the worst club in the whole of the English football pyramid at recruiting in January, in fact recruiting at all. Whether the tickets or cheap or not isn't relevant, we should be a big pull to anyone in this league and the one above but we are so miserable at attracting talent.
