Now, as well as that is written, I would argue the following! If we're going after a player, for arguments sake, Sam Surridge at Bournemouth. We say to them, how much do you want for him or what % of his wages can we pay to take him on loan. They say, £100k or we'll let you pay 30% to take him. But then Mr chairman reads that, hones in on 'trying to recruit suitable replacements' and says hang on whats all this? Does his research, reads some unofficial bits from the press and suddenly starts making enquires. Is JV leaving? Is ED leaving? Talks with the right people and eventually comes back and says right. You're losing two of your top strikers and I know what you're getting, The price is now £125k or 50%. Even though he isn't specifically party to any of the JV and ED negotiations he will use this statement to his advantage.

Clearly a very simple outline, but a similar situation played out with regards the signing of Billy Knott. And again, Im not sure Ive ever seen a club come out with anything like that before, however that doesn't detract from the fact that you would probably do quite well in a PR role of some sort!!!

I doubt we'll hear that tonight, possibly if we lose to Cheltenham and Oldham.
Oldham might be the fixture that see's another Bradford City manager leave, but I'm not holding my breath.

As I said earlier, the football world is a small one, people talk and I'd be gobsmacked if football agents weren't already aware of the D&V situation and that we were looking for replacements. Putting out a short statement from the club informing its fans of the situation wouldn't make a jot of difference to our own negotiating stance.

ps I've already had two txts in the last hour from former colleagues who are both involved in the transfer world telling me that Doyle and Vaughan are both leaving my club! They could even name the two clubs involved. That's how quickly news gets around in a small world.

It’s clear that this club needs a structural change if it’s to go forward and take the fans with it. This just is n’t working. Appointing Rhodes because he’s a City fan and he has been involved in a previous boardroom just is n’t enough. The club is just ticking over and hoping it get’s lucky. Who have we got who can make the decisive decision to sack a manager, appoint a replacement, hold forums, speak directly to the fans and the media and sell the club to existing and new fans? The club is hardly breathing. If Rhodes can’t do it, then bring him some support who can do it. It’s pretty pathetic.
Rupp needs to build the club or look to sell it.

Julian was only brought in on a temporary basis, he was sorting another candidate out so he could hand the reins over to the new man, unfortunatly said candidate got a better offer.
It really is a thankless task he gets a new guy in who ticks all the boxes then does not achieve his goals, some on here would be delighted to put the boot in.
Christ Mark & Julian got stick for selling the club to Rahi & Rupp when Rahic screwed up.

Exactly! They are not mind readers and nobody complained when McCall led the team out at Wembley did they?

Ryan Sparks on WYS last night, informing us about the Doyle and Vaughan situation. Late! This should have been put out before leaking it to the press. If they are a bit more proactive then these rumours might not gain the same momentum.

In this clip he is suggesting our poor results and performances are since Doyle has come back!!

Absolute myth. The form was horrendous way before the start of January. Poor from the club. Let's blame Doyle and try get some heat off our manager. Cowardly from Sparks.

Possibly true but he is absolutely right our poor form did coincide with the return of Doyle. Whatever the rights and wrongs it is no good keeping an unhappy player it ruins the dressing room

Better late than never! And it's about time that the club got on the front foot without having to be in catch-up mode continually.

I hope he simply expressed himself poorly in linking the return of Doyle to our poor performances. If not, that's a disgraceful suggestion by him. He ignores a string of poor performances through the season and fails to recognise the obvious point that another manager played to Doyle's strengths and got the results whilst our manager couldn't do that.

No matter what the club stated and your imaginery statement would be fine, the keyboard warriors would turn on it. We live in a cynical age and it seems no matter what the club states it’s turned upon. For example I don’t think Fordy would like your statement.

I get he is a fan but I still don’t get how Rhodes is still involved, he has been involved and partly culpable in countless relegations and admins whilst running or is it ruining our club and we are in much a worse position than when he first got involved.

For starters we don’t even own our ground now.

He helped commit suicide loaning Dean Windass out the January of the season we got relegated from League One, the start of the really dark days.

How can we trust anything he says, he might believe it, but history tells us he screwed up.

He only tasted success in the higher leagues because of Richmond.
