This thread should be revised to “club miscommunication” as that describes the situation as it stands

Ryan Sparks just comes over as another fly by night who hides when the going gets tough. Bollocks to reunion dinners and shirts off backs etc, tell us proper fans what on earth is happening with our club!!

Agreed. I saw this event which focuses on the Chelsea game or something, and I thought, can't we just move on from this? Lovely memories and all that, but there's much more pressing things going on than getting all misty eyed about a cup run that happened circa 6 years ago. It's just a distraction method employed by the club.

Rupp/Rhodes/Sparks would have worked well under Stalin.

 

I doubt Stalin would have employed a German all things considered.....

 

We're just a cash cow who's loyalty is taken for granted. Rhodes and co are going to be in for a shock when they don't even sell 10,000 season tickets.

 

What do you actually want them to say? Club business regarding players incoming isnt going to be aired publicly as in "we're chasing this player" or "we want this player" for, I would have thought, fairly obvious reasons. If they come out and confirm Doyle and Vaughan before a replacement is sourced, the selling club feed off the desperation and fleece us. If they deny and go in the end, then they look like they've gone back on their word.

Regarding the FA Cup event, I personally see this as a revenue driver and not 'living in the past'. 500 tickets at £25 is £12,500 less your costs. That pays for a lot of things that mean your playing budget is dipped into.

 

They give statements in the past backing McCall in January. This time fans want Bowyer out, were on verge of slipping out of the play-offs and into 10th. We need answers, we need intent. We need ambition. Where is the drive behind the club? Club and fans have grown apart again.

 

Someone mentioned comings and goings.
This must be the first transfer window where there hasn’t been an expectation or excitement about signings.
I’ve no faith that any signing would have a positive impact with Bowyer in charge right now!

 

I no longer trust the capability and ambition of those running the club.

Actions speak much louder than words, and our actions haven't been good enough for a long, long time.

 

To a certain extent you get that in the programme. Bowyer every game, Rhodes/Rupp on rotation. Whats the difference?

 

We are of a secondary concern once we have paid up for the next seasons ticket
communication from the club has not improved since ER days its a major weakness
Only when they see how many they have sold for next year they may have second thoughts but somehow i doubt it
I am not clever enough but it would be interesting if someone started a poll on who has renewed and who has not and who isnt

 

The time to do a poll is nearing the end of the deadline events will decide how many we sell

 

But they can't release a statement confirming or denying every rumour that appears out of nowhere. Do other clubs do better at releasing statements of intent or quashing rumours? Not sure.

 

Personally and this is just me I understand people want different things, because I can live without the need to be constantly updated on the day to day operational running of a football club. Rupp said in the programme two matches ago that Bowyer would be backed in the window if he wanted extra bodies in. I took that to mean if he wants players, he can have them. Within reason of course. If its not him, Rhodes does the column and David Garth gives an insight into the commercial side. These updates are only what Id expect a press release to look like anyway.
