Don't speak too soon Park. We've been found out and about to go into freefall. We wasted our easy patch with a shocking December which should've give us a bit of breathing space. No room for error currently but can't see where the points are coming from with Bowyer at the helm.

Just would have loved the reaction on here if we had mirrored Salford results ,and they also spent heavily in the summer on their budget and were bookies favourites to win the league.

WHY ? Why would you have loved it ?

As things stand (And look right now) - Salford are showing some desire to improve, whereas City are letting their early advantage slip steadily away.
Come back to me in May and we'll see which Club recruited best, over two windows.

The imbalance in central midfield is a disgrace, it should be the first thing this morning being rectified but i doubt it. He's even managed to make the defence, which has been the successful, look decidedly dodgy, conceding 4 in 2 and could have easily been double that. Always be wary and don't dismiss the disatisfaction amongst the fans, its usually a good indication something ain't right.

With respect Chris have a look at the owners of Salford City. I not sure even a big club like us ;) can compete with that sort of financial backing.
I don't understand why the likes of Peter Lim, Gary/Phil Neville, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, and David Beckham invested in a club that has the limitations Salford have, small ground holding just over 5,000, in an area that could never command big gates even if they got into the Championship, is it a rich mans play thing ?.

That all comes from the imbalance of the midfield.

    In a word .... YES

Respect acknowledged - and returned, Dave. ;)
Salford are in the shadow of two of Europes biggest Clubs, and want/need to draw some appeal from all that. IF that means they have risen from non-League to League 1 in a short space of time .......... They WILL be respected - although to a lesser degree.

But let's not forget ....... Salford have a real and true wealth of football knowledge at the financial helm.
(Picture Weatherall, Jones, Davies, McCall and Jamie Lawrence ...... Backed by a Billionaire taking the Dog and Duck pub team all the way to League football ?)

See? A vision CAN become reality, with knowledge, and backing. :)

It's because we have a playing squad of about 30.

Did any of you see Jamie and Roy having a right old argument after the Liverpool game? Whilst they took opposing views (JC saying sack Ollie, RK saying give him another year), they both agreed that the recruitment Man Utd have done this season has been appalling (despite Man U having spent the most in the Prem league). When Keane was asked who is responsible for recruiting players, he said that's the problem - no one knows.

Same with us. Who sanctioned the signing of our overloaded midfield? I know we're not in a position to have a "head of recruitment", but there's got to be some sort of system. It's been years since it's been correct, what with the madness of Edin, coupled with Greg and Archie before that, we seem to just throw mud at the wall and hope it sticks. I don't ever hear about a scout network (if we have one) and I don't ever hear who is responsible and accountable for our signings. What I have heard is "we have a list of players we want to go for, and we will hit the ground running as soon as the window is open" or "we need three windows to get this squad together", only for us to be scratching around on deadline day trying to fill round holes with square pegs.

I'm not a professional football coach or analyst, but myself, along with the majority of every Bradford City fan, can see that the first team is unbalanced, and this is affecting our style of play, our results and ultimately the atmosphere at VP.

Someone needs to take this club by the scruff of its neck and give it a damn good shake.

I think 4 managers in around 15 months are the reason we have a very lopsided squad. Hard to fix in one window

How many of these players have been brought in by Bowyer?

I'm not sure. Midfield is the most unbalanced area, yet apart from Akpan, they're all his signings, including devine and anderson who he gave new deals to.

I count 15/16 you count the resigning of Devine and Anderson. Don't think you can blame anyone else. More than enough incoming to players to address this but has failed to do so.

Ive quickly totted up with have 31 senior players and I believe Bowyer has signed 20 of them.
Off my head whom were at the club and their contracts didnt run out June 2019
O'Donnell, Mellor, O'Connor, Reeves, Doyle,McCartan,Gibson,Akpan, Wood, Riley, Patrick

Obviously Devine & Anderson were at the club in 2019 but Bowyer re-signed them each to new contract (Fcuk know's why , but wev'e disected that to bits on here)

Granted but wonder if he panicked a bit re-signing those two. We still had scannell then but finances dictated he went. And rightly so. At that point Doyle had gone too leaving us short up front imo.

I don’t think he’s helped himself but harsh to blame it all on him. Regardless of the amount we have signed

Learn something every day , that makes their situation even worse apart from away fans you'd think they would sell out most games.
