I will get on any player's back and give them stick, if they deserve it. Doyle got a lot of unfair criticism during and at the end of last season. As he was part of an unfit, poorly performing squad he was roped in with most of the other players for the situation we were in.
It was said he missed loads of chances. All goalscorers missed chances but having seen most of last season's games I didn't remember him missing many, at the end of day we didn't exactly create that many.
He was described as lazy. The Doyle I remember from last season had to do too much work, having to come deep looking for the ball because his service from an underperforming squad was poor, even allowing for this he hit double figures.
While at Swindon he has scored 23 goals at the halfway stage of the season. The last time he had anything like this scoring rate was When he was on loan at Oldham when he hit 17 in 33/34 appearances. Both spells under Richie Wellens. So one guy certainly knows how to use him.
If we do recall him I hope that we make him feel welcome and get the best out of him.

 

I've heard about this and seen the tweet. There were four of us in the Directors Box. In front was Les Ferdinand and his mate who I recognised but can't name. Immediately next to them was a Swindon fan and his small son then two other guys who were Swindon. Don't recall seeing the Crewe guy but our fans were repeatedly singing "...he's coming home". Think someone has 2 plus 2 and made the rest up. There were some Swindon staff two or three rows in front one of whom got pretty heated with the red card so maybe a bit bitter.
Nothing in the tweet for me.

I certainly don’t think he was lazy he was asked to do a Job he wasn’t capable of just as at the moment Vaughan is manfully doing. At the moment Donaldson is out as I said in an earlier post in his last 4 games Donaldson played we averaged 2 goals a game so when he is back there will be one place available and I wouldn’t be dropping Vaughan however he is booked nearly every match so he will soon be missing and if he is here that will be Doyle’s chance to take

 

For whom....

 

Think to the whole footballing world us taking Doyle back would be a no brainier.

So 2 add 2 should equal 4.

A player that's scored 23 goals...no debate to be had.

Every club would love a 20 plus forward and we own one.

If he doesn't want to play then fine because it will stop Swindon and give us a chance of overtaking them.

It's a non discussion! He needs to come back no matter what.

The club would a be laughingstock and overnight a club that's weak in business.
