I’ll be interested to see the starting XI, given 2 days of recovery before a big trip to Swindon. It rests on the formation Bowyer decides to go with against Swindon. I won’t be shocked to see 442 vs Morecambe and thus a few changes, with a revert to 352 at Swindon and a lineup close to yesterday’s.

Others thoughts?

 

I can't see GB changing anything, bar personnel - slotting the walking wounded in where required (for both these games).

 

It'll be a typical Derek Adams side. 5 at the back, ten men behind the ball and time wasting from the start probably spearheaded by that shithouse Kevin Ellison.

If anything it will be a game in which we have no option but to get on the front foot. No need for 5 defenders against this lot either.

 

No need for it. But it'll happen. 5 at the back seems here to stay. At least when Devitt comes back, he should add more than McCartan in that 10 role

 

Bit hard on Ellison mate, still playing at nearly 41, when he came on at there place earlier in the season they nearly pulled a 2 goal deficit back.
Over the years he's another player who always seems to raise his game against us, not sure he can do 90 minutes now thought.

Completely agree. I'd like to see Bowyer drop one of them to the bench with the option to bring them on later to shore things up if needed. Let's start believing in ourselves and having a proper good go (especially at home and against lower teams), rather than starting off terrified of losing if we don't defend in numbers.

 

Master of the dark arts though, sure he'll wind us up no end on Wednesday even if he only plays 5 minutes.

 

Every team needs someone like Ellison, we had McMahon, and now Vaughan, although at times Vaughan goes too far yesterdays back chat to the referee was a little silly to say the least.

Can't see a lot of changes for the Morecome game as Bowyer said both Pritchard and Mellor wont be fit, Reeves was a bonus he didn't expect him back for the Mansfield game.
Are Ismail and Akpan injured ?.

 

Agree, he changed the game when he came on at Morecambe. Yes won't do 90 minutes.

 

Re Ellison, as Bronco says, old man nearly pulled Morecambe level at their place and for a "nasty' player, he was smiling plenty when he came back to defend a corner and got the piss taken out of him by our fans for being an old so and so. Will also just comment that I thought we were lucky to get away with 3 points there, it was hard to imagine Morecambe being a bottom of the table side that day. Must be the "their Cup Final" syndrome.

 

Ismail was ill.
Akpan and Devine seem to be on the rid list. Think both will move in Jan.

Mellor is ill but I am not convinced he suits this boring formation anyway.

 

Think we will see the same formation at least until Donaldson or Doyle comes back.

However, we need a new RB and another forward in Jan even if Doyle does come back and Donaldson is recovered for injury.

Might need another CB also.

To make this formation exciting you need your full backs to play as wingers, a CB to be able to run with the ball and a forward that drop deep & shoot from long range.

Until Donaldson or Doyle are back get use to the boring formation as we don't have the players to play the current formation Bowyer is playing but it's all about not losing for him at the minute.

 

Just seen some clown in the prediction league guessing 5 nil.
