Doyle is a poacher who thrives off service, if we can't get the best out of him due to the way we play then the chances of us being able to accommodate another renowned goalscorer in the same mould are slim at best.

The formula with Doyle is simple-.give him chances and he'll score. If we are incapable of doing so then which striker we sign almost becomes irrelevant and reflects poorly on the club.

I don't think just because Doyle wouldn't score that no striker will score.

We've had strikers in the past scoring freely under similar circumstances. Nahki is the obvious one. He is completely different to Doyle, and while we won't get someone with his ability, we could find someone with pace and work rate - or real aerial ability.

You can only hope that the current results and performances are making the club rethink their intention to sell Doyle in January. I mean we all know he won't solve the big issue of a lack of impetus and creativity but at least he will put away the few chances we do manage.

Interesting stat I've just worked out.Looking at
all the Swindon league games so far,if you take
    Doyle's goals away,Swindon would have 14 less
points and be in 10th place on 32 points.

That's calculated on what the results would of been
If Doyle hadn't scored and what the result would of
been based on other players scoring.

These sort of ‘stats’ are worthless. You are assuming that without Doyle we would have had a player in his position who wouldn’t have scored at all.

It’s the same as saying if you had a shitty keeper you would have let more goals in.

Anyway, news here is that we have sorted out our loans - Yates and Grant are staying. Everybody connected to Doyle have made it clear to your owner that he wants to stay. Power has made an offer and it’s now entirely down to your club to either accept or recall him.

    Fair enough to me.

Bowyer doesn't want the embarrassment of recalling him and him not performing so I wouldn't worry he'll stay with you.

Both parties will come to an agreement which will see him stay at Swindon. I can't see any other scenario.

To me it is simple. We are not scoring goals, Doyle is. Bring him back.

Except unless you have Chris Waddle you ain't gonna score from behind the halfway line, but I see that a lot of thought has gone in to your solution....!!

Completely agree. He knows that if he brings him hack and his scoring record stops - which it would - it exposes him massively. And given that fans are now openly questioning his tactics and intent, it could prove the final straw in his tenure if our current form continues.

To simple, logical and oozes common sense.

No, we need to do the opposite because that's what we do and that's why we are L2.

Firstly Doyle doesn't want to be here. Why bring a player back that doesn't want to play for us? Secondly, we dont play a system or style that suits him. He wont score the goals that he has at Swindon.
If anyone actually wants us to recall him to stop Swindon then that really is pathetic. We should be walking the league regardless of Doyle.
Most of you wanted him gone in the summer. Now hes scoring some goals and has his career back on track you now want him back.

Because he's our player and had a shit season during a time when even O'Donnell and Wood had shit seasons.

And he's probably on pace to set a league 2 goal scoring record at this rate! It's like Man City loaning Aguero to Liverpool and him scoring 2/3 of their goals, MADNESS.

And if had stayed with us he would probably been a centre half or a full back by now
Swindon would miss his goals but the way they play someone else wil take over the mantle
They play attractive attacking football ( the only way to get out of this league)
Only bring Doyle back with a new manager
    Still fuming after yesterday !!!

Of course, they'll have lent Salah to Everton & Mane to Watford

To be fair we do have the 2nd top goal scorer in the league as well, the argument is always a strange one on where we would be without his goals.Bradford would be 10th without Vaughans goals for example so it works both ways. Would another score as many without him, absolutely not but we are still creating the chances there is no coincidence that we have 4 players who by christmas have scored more goals already than at any other stage of their careers. I genuinely believe for both parties it's best it stays as it is
