Tbf, it would be a huge financial statement by your club to bring him back with no guarantee he’d perform. I still reckon Bowyer would be cooking his own Xmas goose if he convinces your owner to finance his return only to see him revert to how he played before he came to us.

There’s some face saving to be done by someone, somewhere before this saga comes to an end.

I think 500 ST sales to cover a half a players wages for half a season makes the financial argument for not recalling him tbh.

Not really - I'm suprised the chairmen haven't already said bring him back as we are potentially missing out on the goals he's scoring for you. He's our player, he's scoring double what our top scorer is getting - it makes sense to bring him back. If it means selling fringe or sending back a couple of loanees to try get his goals in then it also makes sense. it only takes a change of formation to fit him in the team again. We have better players back now than when he was first here. It really shouldn't be difficult to get him scoring for us.

The last thing we want is for it to be seen that the player is running this decision.

I think a few people are forgetting what he was like when he played for US. He was utter garbage. We know it, and he knows it. I don't think he's going to start scoring in the same vain he has been for Swindon when he comes back. Totally different formation, totally different team mates. It's like expecting Ben Stokes to hit a century using one of his old bats. Not to mention that his heart and mind are not going to be up to the task 100%.

Best case scenario, is that Swindon buy him and we/he move on from all this.

Bowyer never wanted to Doyle to leave we're told, but Bowyer was told he had to sell/loan before he could bring his players in, so I'd say your comment above is pure speculation on your part.
As someone pointed out the local jurno said if we want Doyle to return the club have the finances to do that, that comment could be spun any way you want to read it.
I hope Power would want to sign him, 21 goals so far it would be madness on his behalf to let Doyle slip through his fingers especially when he said he wants to stay and play for Swindon as he's enjoying his football at the County Ground and who wouldn't be 21 goals before Christmas.
A few of our fans may not be happy leaving Doyle at Swindon on loan but I would suggest there would be far more Swindon fans angry with Power to alloy him to leave without making an offer.

That is the best scenario I agree. I remember exactly how he played and also the team he was in and also under various different managers.

This season is a different team just about. I don't see him coming back and carrying on scoring like he has been but its got to be worth a go or should have been worth a go. The amount of formation changes we've had could/should have been done with him involved. Once he got to 10/12 goals you would have thought we'd have said hold on this is our player that's scoring for fun lets recall him and try play to his game to benefit from his goals - clean slate, lets try again to fit you in.

He isn't going to sign for Swindon yet.

The best Swindon can hope for is Bradford City being foolish and not recalling him so he stays on loan.

But it’s easier for Power to say you priced us out of the market. We know we haven’t got the heftiest budget so nobody would be surprised - disappointed for sure.

It was posted £100,000 would do the deal (possibly rumour) I know it's easy as fans to spend the owners money but thinking about it Power could surely get his hands on that figure if true, Doyle becomes your player at whatever deal you've negotiated, Doyle's purple patch continues and gets you guys promoted, that would be one hell of a Ace Power has up his sleeve if clubs came asking about his availability.
All hypothetical at the moment unfortunately one set fans or the other will be disappointed.

Its beneficial for both clubs that a deal is done. If we do ask for a fee, which i expect, then it will come down to an acceptable price for both parties. I cannot foresee the scenario where Power says we asked too much, we may at first but us asking in the first place shows a need to move him on. I certainly don't expect to see him in a City shirt again.

How is it beneficial for us?

I disagree. Long term is hurts the club massively!

    Forget Doyle! Think business!

Be realistic, we got rid of him for financial reasons. That means the club are unlikely to take him back for that very reason, doesn't matter what anyone says about being able to cover his wage, thats just not showing your hand too early. That said I'd love a goal scoring forward back in the ranks but the likelyhood is he stays. But getting money for a player out of contract in 6 months won't be that easy.

Who's to say that if we do sell him for 100k, that money just goes straight into Rupps wallet next to the McBurnie money. It's all a bit weird that there hasn't been much communication from the club about this. But then again, no it isn't.

Ordinarily I would agree RT but this isn't ordinary. The lad is scoring for fun, top of the league, they'd be crazy not to ensure they get him. They will be looking at promotion and having a goal scorer already in place for League 1. How much would they be looking at paying during the summer for what they have found is a 20+ goal a season player? (And I know he hasn't scored 20+ every season).

I think the asset is more attractive to us now. He is scoring for fun. Any fool of a manger would set up like Swindon ref offensively to make use of the 25 -30 goals he will now get.......... The 100 k Broncs is last months news they need to dig a liccle deeper methinks.

    200k

If we sell him we have to make a statement to all the football world and businesses that Bradford City are no mugs.

Don't do it and IF we sell him them it could damage this club massively long term when conducting business.
