Agreed. And I wouldn't be against the idea of McCann either. If its one of Warburton, McCann & Cathro that is a better list than Cotterill, Rosler, Megson & Alexander as was touted not so long ago.

I'd be impressed if they could tempt Warburton. I'd be surprised if he was too high up in the thinking for Swansea & Ipswich as suggested in the T&A. The main factor would be cost with the staff that Warburton brings - if Edin & Stefan were prepared to invest in that then it should impress. But we shall see, I too think McCann is much more likely and I'd be pretty happy with that.

After hearing that idealy Edin would prefer players to take their salaries part money upfront and part incentive bonuses, will the new Head Coach be employed on similar terms ?.

Possibly not. It doesn't stand out a great deal but I'm looking for the owners to hire someone who would buy into the model that is set out. I don't see much point in going for someone like a Grayson again who might not want to work under those conditions. For that reason I wouldn't be against the idea of Cathro either who has an abysmal win rate.

McCann seems to fit with an attacking style of play (going off that impressive display on Boxing Day), he has got the best out of some youngish players such as helping Jack Marriott make the step up and improved Peterborough's position after Graham Westley's time in charge.

 

I wonder if the salary that Edin takes for himself operates on the same principle....

 

Every time we play he gets some money. Just exactly like the players only the numbers are different.

 

...and a similar deal for the fans no win no fee. So, I finish in line with a stated target at the start of the season then season ticket holders get cash back. That would make for either more realistic promises or a big incentive to achieve

 

Didn’t Leeds do something like that if they failed to win promotion. We would have to pay way more per match for that. We are spoilt already with the price we pay

 

Or if we don't finish in the top six Edin gets us all a beer. That would help him to concentrate.

 

I would suggest his salary has the decimal point 1 place ( at least ) to the right of most players salary per annum .

 

I love it.

Charge 300 quid for STs to 'finish in the top 6'. Come the end of the season, fans get a 20 quid refund for every place down the ladder we finish. So a mid table finish means you end up paying mid table prices. You get what you pay for.

 

Reading your above ............ I take it Warburton is also beyond reasonable scope ? He IS in my book.
If the Board won't listen to, and accept Grayson, then why listen to Warburton ?

Mid table prices we pay well below non league prices already

And although we can all agree with your view ......... Sorry, but essentially you're covering old ground. Edin is skint, and no way will Stefan stump up more than loose change. So can we ALL forget the so called 'Huddersfield' plan.
