Manager Rumour Thread

I didn't post this one and I hope your right it stays as a rumour, because if it is true then IMO we are in deep shit.

 

I think it will Bronco. If it is true I agree we are in this shit but at the minute the negative posters, not just you, are breeding negativity. It's becoming a tiresome job trying to associate with some people who calls themselves fans at the minute not just on here but all the usual social media channels.

We've grown into a culture in which everybody wants things straight away, and if that doesn't happen a mob mentality begins to unfold and it's happening constantly on here. I appreciate people want to voice there opinion as ultimately this is what this board is for, however I'd just like to see a bit more patience, less of this we're are a mess 24/7.

 

You didn't post it but you said you had heard the same so can you comment where you heard it instead of blithely adding to the negative message without adding any substance?

@Bronco as someone who literally replies to every post on here you actually should have a greater sense of responsibility. When you post one negative message after another it really does affect a thread. This is what I was alluding to earlier. You have been negative for some time and I get it. You don't like the owners, that's OK, that's your opinion but when it's post after post of you looking at things from a negative angle it gets a bit tedious.

 

Reasons To Be Cheerful

 

We don't just call ourselves fans. The fact we give our time and cash(for many many years) should suggest we are fans. We haven't been negative since 2012, only now when we see our club in reverse gear after our hopes had been built up by promises of advancement. We as well as you are entitled to express our opinions. None of us want our owners to fail, in fact we are desperate for them to succeed. As as been said by many others, we will have to wait and see what happens.

 

Kind of highlights my point, we've had success since 2012 and the club has been great to be involved with. Only this last season has the momentum gone and it's like we are in free fall i.e Sunderland the way people are carrying on.. Not renewing etc it's absolutely rife.

Wait and see what happens, but don't go all out guns blazing for the club after 1 season of stalling. Sort of antics of a Leeds fan.

 

I’ve just said to Bronco this won’t happen, Drury in all likelyhood will be in contention for the U18s job. I think McCann looks the most likely candidiate.

 

Shame you can't debate without resorting to insults. Suggest you read the letter again and you will see that it refers to being fans for many years before 2012(during all of the bad years). Yes we have advanced every year since then and our owners made promises bold enough for us to think this would continue. Even though we were highly placed at Christmas, many of us on here suggested the team was not good enough to get us out of the division but were confident of strengthening come January. What has happened since suggests a relegation battle is a real possibility. We do have some very good players however and if Reeves and the aussie cb can come back with the form they showed prior to injury, it will help. We do however need more than just words from Edin.

No idea Nick, certainly don't think he will be on the radar for the vacant managers job. Why would he? We have some very good candidates in the frame for the job. The rumour has no logical sense.

 

Which would, of course, include Sex & Drugs & Rock 'n Roll. And for certain types, Rhythm Sticks too!

Oh for some solid, confirmed news about players or managers...

although as idlebantam points out he is 25-1 at bet victor (very strange)

I agree. It was apparent that last season's squad didn't seem as strong as the season before although losing Chicksen for long periods wasn't ideal. I'm not sure who was to blame for the unbalanced squad building because we clearly lacked defensive numbers and had a surplus in midfield/attack although there we lacked quality.

It seems weird how our two biggest game changers were Robinson and Taylor neither of which played regularly before joining us.

Having said that I'm willing to give the new manager the chance to bring together their own squad and I'll be closer to judging when the season kicks off.

 

I have to say (though I don't believe it) after being supportive of the owners, I wouldn't be on board with this.

 

I'm sorry you feel like that @Botswana Bantam, but your comments will not stop me posting positive or in your opinion negative posts, by all means put me on ignore if you dont like what I post.
It not a matter of liking or disliking I don't believe them for Gods sake, they came in saying they wouldn't change a things and they immediately did change things, by asking Phil Parkinson to work to their model even though the way the club had functioned for the previous 5/6 season was one of the very reasons they bought us, wake up guys and smell the coffee.

 

But Bronco at the same time they said their ethos was to develop young players and to bring in players with a sell on value. You never seem to mention that at the same time. And I think you know as well as I do when talking about not changing things they were talking primarily about affordable football

 

Well of course your going to spin it to suite your argument, I say when someone says they would not change something that had brought success to our club that would mean keeping the manager and allowing him to do the job he does best without interference from anyone else at the club.
Lets wait and see what Wednesday or Thursday brings Edin said in the interview he hoped there would be new around those day, but he also said he would take his time as they had to get this one right, that's the most sensible thing he's said in a while.

 

Who have they brought in with a sell on value ???
Maybe Robinson and Wyke (who I wouldn't class as young) even his value and form has dropped
They also said they would back the manager for a top 2 spot in January if we were top six
Can you imagine what would have happened if straight away they increased the price of season tickets. But I fully expect that next season

 

Whats that saying : "You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time" looks like you can.
